As a standalone game in the "Tales of" series, Tales of Arise will feature a new story centering around two characters: Alphen and Shionne.
As a Dahnan and Renan respectively, the game's story will heavily focus on the two's journey together alongside other characters as they navigate the conflict between the planets Dahna and Rena.
Along with a new story and leading characters, Tales of Arise will also feature several new characters who will join you on your journey throughout the world. These characters can be interacted with while also providing their own unique skillsets to any combat situation.
The well known combat system in the "Tales of" series has been reworked, offering a faster paced dynamic system that grants players more freedom and maneuverability around the battlefield.
New mechanics such as Boost Attacks and Boost Strikes combine to make the combat system in Tales of Arise a varied one, offering new ways of taking down the many enemies that can be encountered.
As you journey through the world, you will have the chance to set-up camp. You will be able to Cook for other characters, with these meals that you prepare providing several bonuses to your stats such as EXP Boosts amongst others.
You will also have the opportunity to collect precious ingredients for these meals – Fishing for your ingredients is one small side-activity that can be done to have rare ingredients for your Cooking needs!
Scattered all around the game world are various Owls that you can find. Finding these owls can bring you several new useful items that you can make use of in combat.

Tales of Arise will also let you fully customize your party with costumes you can buy as DLC. Travel through your adventure in style with over 18 different costumes!

Some interactions and dialogue will only be available or triggered whenever you camp with your party. You can cook a member's favorite meal and also review all Skits and Cinematics you've already collected while you're camping!
