According to Yusuke Tomizawa, beating Tales of Arise's Main Story alone can lead to 45+ hours of gameplay, story, and several side activities that you could pursue all around the game's fantasy setting. Players who wish to 100% the game can see their play times increase to 70+ hours.
You can complete the main story of Tales of Arise on Story difficulty in 40 to 50 hours even if you read and watch every skit and cutscene. The estimated play time includes taking detours in each area for hidden items as well as doing short sub-quests.
Artifacts that give you discounts from shops, EXP and SP boosts, starting items, and more are obtainable from the DLC packs. These items will make your playthrough much easier especially if you just focus in the story.
If you don't have any DLC packs, we recommend doing Sub-Quests for their rewards, especially those involving Gigant Zeugles as each of them drops an Astral Flower that raises your max CP by 10.
Difficulty | Story |
---|---|
Dialogues | Read / Watched every skit and cutscene |
Exploration | Avoid enemies if possible and explore every corner of each area |
NPC Conversations | Only NPCs necessary for story progression |
DLC | Not purchased |
Acquired Gald | 606,115 |
Skits Watched | 278/320 |
Sub-Quests Cleared | 45/70 |
Owls Found | 37/38 |
Successsful Fishing Rounds | 14 |
Gigant Zeugles Defeated | 14/20 |
Unlike sidequests in games in the same genre, the Sub-Quests in Tales of Arise are short quests that can be found and done all across the game's world. Each new region visited contains several sub-quests, which all in all will add at most ~12 more hours to your play time.
If you have not installed any DLC, clearing sub-quests may be essential for you to get more CP-related items and rewards.
List of All Sub-Quests (Side Quests) and Rewards
There are a good number of side activities that players can pursue to take a break from the Main Story. Fishing, finding and fighting Gigants, collecting Owls, and looking for Skits to watch contribute to add ~10 or more hours to your playthrough.
For completionists on the hunt for a 100% run of Tales of Arise, it will take more than ~70+ Hours to complete everything the game has to offer including clearing Sub-Quests, acquiring all Artifacts, finding all Owls, completing the Enemy Info index, getting all Titles and Artes, catching all Fishes, and collecting all of the game's Outfits.
