After selecting Flee, an Escape bar will appear on your screen. Your goal is to withstand or avoid enemy attacks until the escape bar completely disappears.

If successful, the player-controlled character will run from the enemies, and the battle will end.

Select Cancel Flee to Cancel Command

If you wish to cancel fleeing, simply head back to the Battle Menu and select Cancel Flee to resume your battle.

Fleeing Tips and Tricks

Enemies Disappear After Fleeing

Tales of Arise - Enemies Disappear after Fleeing
The enemies you encountered will disappear after you flee, so use this to your advantage when you want to go through hordes of enemies in a pinch!

Flee Faster From Low Level Enemies

The speed at which the gauge decreases depends on the level of your enemy in relation to your own level. The lower the level of your enemy is against yours, the faster it goes down.

Cannot Escape From Unique Enemies

Note that you cannot flee against unique or gigant Zeugles. Entering such battles will prevent you from selecting Flee, and the only way to exit is to either defeat it or be defeated.
