Behind a Locked Door

The Devil's Arms are behind a large locked door that you can open by interacting with all 6 switches located in each of the elemental sections of the Keystone Dungeon, such as Flame Palace and Whirlpool Palace.

Once you unlock the door, head inside and you can obtain all 6 Devil's Arms by looting them from the containers in the middle of the room.

The powerful Devil's Arms weapons are acquired after defeating the bosses on each level from the quest-specific dungeon, the Otherworld.

The Otherworld is also a great place to level your characters in the end-game, as the enemies here are around level 60 and above.

The Otherworld is unlocked during the sub-quest Otherwordly Visitors.

To explore the Otherworld, you must first finish two prerequisite sub-quests, Spirit Temple and Another Hillside Anomaly. Completing both will unlock the Otherwordly Visitors sub-quest, which will transport you to the Otherworld.

The Spirit Temple sub-quest is unlocked late in the game, and it is recommended to take this quest on when your team is at least level 55 or higher, as enemies here are quite dangerous.

The second prerequisite quest, Another Hillside Anomaly, can only be unlocked after finishing the main storyline.

The Devil's Arms are recurring sets of weapons in the Tales series. These powerful weapons grow in power on the number of enemy defeats by the character equipping it.

In Arise, these can be acquired in the Otherworld. This is unlocked at end-game and serves as the game's post-game content.

Special Growing Weapons

Tales of Arise - Low Base Stats
At acquisition, the Attack and Element Attack stats for Devil's Arms start very low. However, as you defeat enemies, the Devil's Arms become more powerful, reaching higher than the best crafted weapons.

Defeat Enemies to Increase Stats

Tales of Arise - Battling Enemies
Each time you defeat an enemy, the Attack and Elemental Attack stats for the Devil's Arms increase by one.

The stats for these weapon can start at extremely low levels, and so it will be tough to fight using these at this stage. Fortunately, the weapons will still accumulate points even unequipped, so use your other weapons first.

Stat Increases Are Retroactive

Nebilim

Even though you'll be getting the weapons later in the game, their stats will begin increasing once you start defeating enemies earlier in the game.

The more enemies you defeat with a character, the more their Devil's Arms Weapon's stat increases. Note that you'll only see the increase in their stats once you get the actual weapon.

Increases Only on Last Hit

Tales of Arise - Defeating Enemies
It is important to note that the weapon's stats will only increase for the character who got the last hit. Plan your strategies beforehand if you want to improve every character's Devil's Arms.

Difficult to Acquire Weapons

Tales of Arise - the Otherworld Portal
As the Devil's Arms are the strongest weapons in the game, they are also quite difficult to acquire. Bosses in the Otherworld can range up to level 95, and so you will need time and investment to level up all your characters.

You can acquire these weapons no matter what difficulty you are in, so if you are not particular about the setting, you can choose to lower your difficulty settings to Story mode instead.

Carries Over to New Game Plus

Tales of Arise - New Game
Once you get the Battle Maiden's Shield artifact, all your equipment will carry over to New Game Plus. This includes the Devil's Arms.

If you are planning to run higher difficulties for your new save file, it is recommended to get the Devil's Arms first. This way, you can improve these powerful weapons from the start.

It is worth noting that the Devil's Arms bonuses are retroactive and start counting from the very start of the game.
