This is a guide on how to use Artes in Tales of Arise. Read on to know how you can use these powerful skills to defeat your enemies!
List of Contents
Each equipped Artes is assigned to specific keys that can be found on the bottom right of the screen. These Artes change depending on whether you are on the ground or in the air and are also dependent on which Artes you have equipped.
Simply press the button for a specific Arte to activate it, with each use of an Arte resulting in a reduction of your Artes Gauge (AG).
The Artes Gauge can be found just above your HP bar. Each successive use of an Arte reduces this gauge, with each Arte consuming different amounts of the AG.
It automatically fills up over time, but the rate at which it recovers is slowed down when you attack or use Arte.
The types of Artes you bring with you to battle can be changed from the Artes Menu. Here, you can change both Ground Attack and Aerial Attack Artes.
Each playable character has three Artes proficiencies that are unique to them. Using an Arte of a specific proficiency during battle will help to level it up, with certain levels unlocked leading to an "Awakening" where characters learn Artes of the same type.
Step | Action |
---|---|
1 | Open the Player Menu |
2 | Press the designated key for "Status" shown at the bottom of the screen. |
You can access this Proficiency Menu any time outside of combat.
Artes can be "Enhanced" up to five times by repeatedly using them in combat. Enhancing Artes of a specific proficiency will help to raise that proficiency's level.
The amount of times you'll have to use an Arte is indicated in the Artes Menu, with each level of enhancement denoted by a star.
How to Raise Artes Proficiency Fast
Artes are special skills that can be performed during battle. These skills allow each character to perform special attacks, heal or revive other characters, and give individual or party-wide buffs. Each character has a certain Artes Proficiency that they specialize in, with each level up of a proficiency leading to that character learning a new Arte that they can use.
Two types of Artes can be equipped and used. There are Martial and Arcane Artes, with each type having a different power level and AG cost when used.
Martial Artes often come in the form of an attack using a physical weapon. These types of attacks require small amounts of AG to be spent and are quite useful when trying to string together quick attacks against an enemy.
Arcane Artes, when compared to its Martial counterpart, are more powerful attacks that can be triggered at the cost of being more AG-intensive.
