This is a guide on How to Heal in Tales of Arise! Learn how to use Artes to heal party members using CP and Items, and how to have your allies automatically heal and use items!
Healing Artes assigned to an action button can be used during combat to recover your party's HP. Ones used by Shionne or Dohalim provide individual or party-wide healing that allows for the recovery of the HP gauge over time at the cost of Cure Points or CP.
CP can also be used for party-wide healing outside of combat by pressing the Recovery button in the Menu while in the Field.
Healing items can be used both in and out of combat. This can be done by accessing the Items Menu, and selecting an item that will recover the HP of one character or of the entire party. Healing items do not consume CP.
Use of recovery items in combat does incur a short cooldown period in between uses. Careful item and cooldwon time management are key, as the cooldown prevents you from rapidly using items to heal party members one after the other.
Resting at Camps or Inns while in the Field will fully replenish your party's HP. Simply find a campfire while in the field and interact with it – choose the Rest option in order to replenish HP and CP.
During combat, party members that are not directly controlled will sometimes automatically use their Artes to provide healing for the party or for those in need.
This behavior will be more pronounced when you set the Strategy to Focus on Healing – under this strategy, party members will more periodically use Artes to heal party members. When CP is depleted, they will make use of items to recover HP.
Fighting against stronger enemies will sometimes result in a party member being K.O.'d. You can bring these characters back to life and have them back in the fight through the use of Artes and Items, similar to how you would normally heal your party members.
