+Atk/-Def

The best IVs for Lysithea are +Atk and -Def. A +Atk IV adds to her best asset, her very high Atk stat. Dark Spikes T also benefits greatly from a +Atk stat since it allows Lysithea a lot of follow-up attacks. Take note that her Atk is a superboon. Her Spd is also a superboon so you it is a good pick for an IV as well. Her Def is very low and of is less importance so you can safely take it as a bane.

+Atk for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Brave Lysithea to 10. This is for the same reasons as above. At +10 Merges, her Atk stat will reach 62 which is very high. This allows her to one-shot a wide range of units with minimal set-up.

This refine makes her a powerhouse offensive unit capable of breaking down most enemy units in the game, and is worth using if you need a strong red mage nuker.

Brave Lysithea is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Res stat.

Brave Lysithea Strengths

Guaranteed follow-up attack ahead of counterattack

Dark Spikes T is strong against cavalry foes and possesses all of the following effect:

If Lysithea's HP is 99% HP or below and she initiates combat, she makes a guaranteed follow-up attack ahead of the foe's counterattack. This means she attacks twice before the enemy can attack. She has a huge window of taking the enemy out even before they can deal damage to her.

The trigger condition is very easy to reach through Atk/Spd Push 4's damage!

A Slot Skill gives massive bonus to Atk/Spd

Brave Lysithea has the A slot skill Atk/Spd Push 4, which grants Atk/Spd+7 so long as her HP is at or above 25%. It will inflict damage on Lysithea after battle, but considering the massive offensive boost and the damage helps to trigger Dark Spikes T's effects anyway, it is very well worth it.

Combined with Dark Spikes T's Atk/Spd boost, Lysithea can reach an upwards of +14 Atk/Spd!

Casts penalties on enemy Spd and Res

Brave Lysithea has the B skill Lull Spd/Res 3, which will inflict Spd/Res-3 on a foe in combat, and nullify bonuses to those stats. This will increase her damage and rate of follow-up attacks, and it has the powerful property of nulliying Spd/Res buffs.

Low Def

Brave Lysithea's Def only sits at 21 at Lv.40. This makes it easy for physical units to take her out. Be mindful of Brave Lysithea's positioning in relation to physical units that can easily take her out.

Refresher-assist units that can boost Brave Lysithea's offensive output

The Álfr, Peony, Triandra, Plumeria, Mirabilis, are examples of refresher-assist units that greatly boosts Brave Lysithea's damage output. They also possess flying movement, so they will never be out of Lysithea'sreach. It is always a good idea to pair Lilina with them especially in Aether Raids whether it would be on defense or offense. Some players find it hard to read defense units' behavior when refresh abilities are added into the mix.

Reyson or Leanne

Reyson and Leanne provide both heals and refreshes to Brave Lysithea so she can brawl it out in the frontlines for much longer.

Physical powerhouses, preferably those who are strong against blue units

Since Brave Lysithea is a magic unit, she would need some allies to cover units that are strong in absorbing magic damage. Some great ideas are Brave Edelgard,, Brave Ike, or Surtr.

Reyson can be a good choice too if you choose to run Triangle Adept 3 for the sole purpose of covering Lysithea's weakness against blue units.

For blue choices, Brave Hector sets the bar pretty high up for the the best pick.

High-powered blue brawlers

Def is Lysithea's weaker stat so blue physical units can easily exploit her. Though her Spd is really good!

Brave Edelgard

Despite being a green unit, Brave Edelgard is strong enough to take on Lysithea. She is very common in competitive game modes, and her kit focuses on countering tome users like Lysithea. Watch out for her.

Reinhardt

Reinhardt is of the blue attribute, and while he has to go through Lysithea's decent Res, he can still take her out at good investment levels.

Res is Lysithea's better defensive stat, but it is still nothing special.
