What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Refined Double Bow has built-in Close Counter, Guard, damage reflection, and healing per attack. ・Special disables non-special skills that have damage reduction. |

Cooldown Count = 3 Doubles damage dealt. Disables non-Special skills that "reduce damage by X%." |
If unit is not adjacent to an ally, grants Atk/Def +7 during combat. |
Inflicts Atk/Spd-3 on foe and neutralizes foe's bonuses to Atk/Spd (from skills like Fortify, Rally, etc.) during combat. |
At start of turn, if Special cooldown count is at its maximum value, grants Special cooldown count-1. |
Stat | Superboon/Superbane | IV Recommendation |
---|---|---|
HP (18) | ★★☆☆☆ | |
Atk (24) | ★★★★☆ | |
Spd (12) | ★★★★★ | |
Def (5) | ★★★☆☆ | |
Res (5) | ★★★★☆ |
◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Shinon are +Spd and -Res. Shinon's damage is already backed by his skills so he does not need to worry that much about his Atk stat. Taking a +Spd IV is best in improving his overall effectiveness in both offense and defense. His Spd His Res is of less importance so it is safe to take it as his bane.
We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Shinon to 10. At +10 Merges, Shinon's Spd will reach such high levels that pushing it up higher is a waste, considering he has access to Double Bow and Lull Atk/Spd 3. At this point, it would be better to opt with a +Atk IV instead to help him get more direct firepower.
If you prefer a more balanced Shinion, you can still go for a +Spd IV. It still makes for a strong case especially because it is a superboon.

Exclusive Weapon Effect from Refining (Special Effect Type) | |
---|---|
SP: 400 | |
Might: 14 Range: 2 HP: Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). Effective against flying foes. If number of allies adjacent to unit ≤ 1, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5 to unit, unit can counterattack regardless of foe's range, and neutralizes effects that inflict "Special cooldown charge -X" on unit during combat, and also, when unit deals damage to foe during combat, restores 7 HP to unit (triggers even if 0 damage is dealt). At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+4 to unit, inflicts penalty on foe's Atk/Spd/Def = 8 - number of allies adjacent to unit × 2 (min 0), and reduces damage from foe's first attack by 20% of unit's Spd during combat ("first attack" normally means only the first strike; for effects that grant "unit attacks twice," it means the first and second strikes), and unit's next attack deals damage = total damage reduced from foe's first attack (by any source, including other skills; resets at end of combat). :500 :200 |
|
Refined Double Bow grants Shinon a Close Counter effect, Atk/Spd/Def/Res+9 in combat, neutralizes effects that slow down his Special cooldown charges, 7 HP healing per attack during combat, true damage reduction on his foe's first attack equal to 20% of his Spd, damage reflection based on the amount of damage reduced, and inflicts an Atk/Spd/Def penalty on his foes during combat.
While Double Bow's effects are not gamebreaking or unique to Shinon, when combined into one weapon, turn Shinon into a formidable unit on the battlefield.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Shinon is a ranged physical attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Deadeye not only doubles Shinon's damage upon activation, but it also disables damage reduction skills. This allows him to counter Fallen Ike's Repel 3 and Brave Edelgard's Black Eagle Rule among other similar skills provided that it is not a special skill.
Deadeye has a fair cooldown counter of 3, but Shinon has access to effects that speed up its activation. Double Bow accelereates its special trigger, so it sits at a default of 2. That is when his C skill, Time's Pulse 3 comes into play. If Deadeye's cooldown is at maximum, it subtracts another count in Deadeye's counter. This puts Deadeye's special trigger to 1.
As mentioned, one of Shinon's strengths is having access to Close Counter through Double Bow whenever he is not adjacent to an ally. This means that he can consistenly dish out attacks in both phases. This leads to a very rapid rate of activation for Deadeye. We recommend having healers around Shinon to make up for the damage he takes in the enemy phase!
Shinon's Res only sits at 24 at Lv.40. This makes it easy for magic users to take him out. Be mindful of Shinon's positioning in relation to magical units that can easily take him out.
Shinon's Def is only at 27 base, but he has skills that help him reduce damage from physical sources!
Ayra | Legendary Eliwood | Mirabilis | Legendary Azura |
Peony | Brave Dimitri | New Year Peony | Eir |
Shinon can fit in a wide variety of teams as he can mostly take care of himself.
He can be paired with those that can boost his firepower even more, like Legendary Eliwood's Bonus Doubler effect on his Ardent Durandal or any of the dancers above.
Brave Hector | Reinhardt | Robin (M) | Cecilia |
Nagi | Legendary Celica | Fallen Lyon | Brave Edelgard |
He will struggle against tanky units like Brave or Brave Edelgard as their high stats and the ability to counterattack regardless of distance may provide difficult for him.
Shinon has a colorless bow weapon, so he is also weak to weapons that are effective against colorless units.
Due to his low Res, fast mages or those with high firepower like Legendary Celica and Reinhardt will have no problem dealing with him as they can easily take him out when they attack him.

Shinon can be used to inherit Atk/Def Solo 4 or Time's Pulse 3. However, Shinon is a very powerful offensive unit that easily outclasses many of the colorless bow users in the game. We recommend training and investing in him instead!
Shinon is a Hero who can be pulled from any summon.
Note: Not currently a featured hero in any Summon events.
