+Spd/-Def

The best IVs for Innes are +Spd and -Def. A higher Spd stat allows Innes to prevent follow-up attacks against him and helps him make follow-up attacks on his own. This boosts both his offensive and survivability capabilities. His low Def is of less importance, so it is safe to take Def as a bane.

How to Use, Explanation

A triple Distant Def 3 build for Innes. Like the other builds, it makes him a good match against magic units. It is cheaper than a Nidhogg refine, so it can be an option for Innes too.

How to Use, Explanation

Nidhogg's base effect is a good cornerstone for when building an enemy phase build, so we take enemy phase skills on him in this build! By maximizing the Spd/Res gap between him and his foes, he can deal lots of damage through Iceberg and follow-up attacks. Even if this is an enemy phase build, you should still aim to hit foes that can't nail counterattacks on him to help charge Iceberg. This is why it is still important to get the spec. eff. refine on him.

How to Use, Explanation

By refining Nidhogg, Innes is able to avoid counterattacks from tome users and dragon units that usually have a DC effect. By increasing his offensive levels, and through buffs and support, he can become a magic check. Staff users won't really be much of a threat, so don't worry about taking counterattacks from them.

We recommend the Special Effect Refine for Nidhogg

Nidhogg's special effect refine is pretty straightforward. It disables counterattacking for tome users and dragonstone units. It has no effect against staff units, but staff units do not speciaize in attacking for the most part so this is enough to boost his viability. This makes Innes incredibly effective against magic units as he has this effect to protect him in the player phase and his high Res helps him survive magic blows in the enemy phase.

Inheriting Guard Bow+

One of our most recommended builds for Innes is inheriting Guard Bow+ and Distant Def 3 onto him. This utilizes his high Res to become a very formidable tank against tome users. You can also slap in the Distant Def 3 Sacred Seal for maximum protection. All 3 will take his base Res to 54 making him a very powerful magic wall.

A more expensive alternative for A skill slot is Distant Def 4 which provides +8 Def/Res instead!

Innes Strengths

Gains extra power through Nidhogg

Nidhogg gives Innes more power as the number of adjacent allies increases. With 3 adjacent allies he gets +6 to all stats. This rewards you for being mindful of your units' positioning. Put in some strategy into your game and Nidhogg will reward you for it!

Amazing Res stat

In addition to his powerful weapon refine that protects him from magic attackers, his Res is naturally high as it sits at 36 at Lv. 40. This makes him a great check to magic foes.

Cancel Affinity 3 Counters Raven tomes!

Cancel Affinity 3 is a hard counter to Raven Tomes. Raven Tomes grant weapon advantage over colorless units, but Cancel Afiinity 3 neutralizes it. In addition to that, Innes' colorless attacks are not strong against any type so the drawback of Cancel Affinity 3 does not apply to him.

This further makes him resistant to tome users that carry Raven tomes!

Innes' Def only sits at 14 at Lv. 40. This makes him extremely fragile against physical units. Be mindful of his positioning in relation to physical units that can easily take himt out!
