When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Hayato are +Spd and -Def. Lacking an exclusive weapon makes Hayate reliant on his stats in order to win in combat. Hayate needs the boost in Spd in order to keep up with the fast metagame heroes.
Hayato's Def is lackluster at only base 24 and is better off left uninvested in order to improve his performance in other areas.
We recommend +Spd when merging Hayato up to +10 to maximize his performance on the battlefield with his high Spd stat.

This is a budget build using Hayato's base kit as an offensive unit. Spd Smoke reduces enemy Spd to help Hayato prevent follow-up attacks from speedy foes. Rauðrlantern+ provides bonuses that activate Atk/Spd Ideal, making them a great combo of skills to equip.

Hayato is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Res stat.
Hayato debuts a new inheritable weapon line in Rauðrlantern+. Lantern tomes grant unhindered movement and bonus Special cooldown charges per attack to the wielder and also grants Atk/Res+5 in combat.
While this weapon is quite lacking in other effects compared to other weapons, Rauðrlantern+'s unhindered movement effect gives it a niche that not many other weapons provide.
Hayato suffers from not having any unique skills to call his/her own, making him unable to stand out amongst other units.
Tome infantry units are quite abundant in the game, and lacking an exclusive weapon makes Hayato replaceable by better units.
