How to Play Ocean Angling
Talk to Empy
To start the Ocean Angling gameplay, talk to the bangboo Empy located by the beach in Fantasy Resort! You can also access the Ocean Angling menu at the front desk of the resort where Therese is standing.
Select A Fishing Rod
Before going to a fishing spot, you can choose to View Database and select a Fishing Rod to equip. Each Fishing Rod has its own feature that can help you with fishing.
You can also change your fishing rod while at the Fishing Spot, but interacting with the Database and Tacklebox Rods in the boat.

 Fairy's Auto-Fishing Rod |
After equipping the automatic rod, head to any fishing spot and cast the line to start auto-fishing. Complete the "Uninvited Guest" mission. |
 Heavy Tactical Rod |
Greatly increases chances of getting 3 and 4-star weight rank catches. Purchase with Angler Commemorative Coin x1,200 |
 Rare Subspecies Rod |
Greatly increases chances of getting rare subspecies. Complete the "Fantasy Music Festival!" mission. |
Use Fairy's Auto-Fishing Rod to Passively Collect Fish
Fairy's Auto-Fishing Rod is very useful if you want to passively collect fish while doing something else in the game or even offline! Each time auto-fishing is turned on, Fairy can fish for up to 20 hours. Proxies can choose to Collect Catch Early to end Fairy's auto-fishing early.
Start fishing with Fairy's Auto-Fishing Rod equipped and select Background Fishing to exit the fishing interface while leaving Fairy to fish for you. Note that you cannot sell or release fish, swap fishing rods, or head to other fishing spots while Fairy is in auto-fishing mode.
Select A Fishing Spot and Companion
Choose one of the six Fishing Spots available in the Fantasy Resort to take a boat and start fishing. You can also choose a Companion Agent to take with you, between Alice and Yuzuha!
Different Dialogue in Different Fishing Spots
Alice and Yuzuha both have different dialogue you can access when bringing them along to different fishing spots. You can talk to them at any time in the boat.

Interact with the Fishing Spot Sign
Once you've chosen a fishing spot, you will be teleported to a boat in the fishing spot. Inside the boat with you will be Empy, the Database and Tacklebox Rods, your Agent companion, and a sign with the Fishing Spot's name on it.
Interact with the Fishing Spot sign in the corner of the boat to start fishing!
Press F to Fish
Unlike in Elpis Ultimate Angler Championship, you only have to press the Fishing button on time to do most of your fishing. Pressing once will cast your line, and you have to press the button again when it turns purple to start reeling in your catch!
Fishing Tutorial

| Hold Prompt |  A horizontal bar will appear on the screen. Press and hold the Fishing button to fill up the bar! |
| Strike Accurately Prompt |  A gold circle will appear on the screen, with another circle expanding from inside it. Press the button when the circles line up and glow to strike accurately at the fish! |
| Support Skill |  Fishing will charge up the purple Support Skill button on the lower right. When it is fully charged, you can use your companion's Support Skill to reel in the fish faster! |
Check Your Progress in Database and Tacklebox Rods
You can check what fish you've caught and see the fish you still need to unlock in the Database, or interact with the Database and Tacklebox Rods. You can see all recorded fish in Catch Collection and the fish in your inventory in Catch Storage.
Sell Fish in Catch Storage
Each fish you catch will have its own weight, capture time and location, rarity and selling price, which are not always dependent on the type of fish you catch. You can sell any of the fish you caught in the Catch Storage menu in exchange for Angler Commemorative Coins.
Display Fish and Decorations in the Aqua Mirage Aquarium
Some fish can be showcased in the Aqua Mirage Aquarium, as long as you've caught them. You can get more Visitor Traffic the more fish you have on display. You can also increase Visitor Traffic by unlocking Decorations using Angler Commemorative Coins.
