Fusion Accidents in Persona 3 Reload (P3R) are results from Persona Fusions that deviate from what was originally intended. Read on to find out what Fusion Accidents are, when they happen more often, and their pros and cons!
Fusion Accidents are anomalies during Persona Fusions where the resulting Persona is not what was originally intended.
While at first glance, this may seem like a bad thing, it's a gamble as the resulting Persona is completely random. This means that you can get an extremely good Persona, or an extremely bad one.
Fusion Accidents are extremely rare, so if you have your eyes set on a certain Persona, you needn't worry too much about getting a different one.
However, certain circumstances can make Fusion Accidents happen more frequently, like New Moons. Players can take this opportunity to take on the gamble and see what kind of Personas they get.
Pro | Con |

Can Result in a Stronger Persona | Can Result in a Weaker Persona |
As previously established, Fusion Accidents can function as gambles wherein players can get a Persona that is supposedly way out of their league, or a very underwhelming Persona.
If you plan on taking advantage of this, be sure to save your game before doing so! Should you acquire a Persona that you did not want, you can load your saved game and retry. Alternatively, you can use the Rewind function to speed things up.
All New Features and Mechanics
Several Personas in the Compendium will be locked from being fused until you reach their required levels. However, a good way to circumvent this restriction is via Fusion Accidents!
Though Fusion Accidents result in completely random Personas, some of them may be of a level that is significantly higher than yours. Keep this mechanic in mind and try to make the most of it if you're feeling lucky!
On the flip side, Fusion Accidents can result in considerably underwhelming Personas. These Personas can be at Level 1 with only one skill.
Some of these Personas can be of use when it comes to fusing other Personas, but for the most part, they will only be of little to no use. It is recommended that you reload your saved data and try again should you encounter this problem.
