Outlast is a contract available in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) Zombies Mode. Read on to learn about how to complete Outlast, the enemies you will encounter in Outlast, and Outlast rewards.
Outlast Contract Guide |

|
First, you need to find an Outlast Contract. Contracts are represented by blue icons on your map. However, you need to look for a specific icon to determine the type of contract. In this case, search for a satellite icon.
After receiving the contract, go to the target location and interact with the device inside the building to start the analysis process.
Once you activate the device, you need to stay in the area and survive all the waves of enemies that will come while waiting for the analysis progress to complete.
If you are doing the Tier 6 Story Mission: Where is Dr. Jansen?, there will be a tablet that spawns near the device after completing the contract. Successfully exfiltrate with this tablet to complete the story mission. If you fail to exfiltrate and die, you have to redo the everything from the first step.
Zombies Acts and Mission Rewards
You can find the location of the Outlast Contract by looking for a contract icon with a satellite symbol on your Tac Map. These contracts have a pool of spawn locations, but only a few will be available and they are chosen randomly at the start of each match.
Enemies | Threat Zone |
---|---|
Normal Zombies | All Threat Zones |
Hellhounds | |
Special Zombies | Medium and High Threat Zones |
Zombies Challenges and Enemy Types
Rewards | Threat Zones |
---|---|
Uncommon Aether Tool | Low and Medium Threat Zones |
Rare Aether Tool | Medium Threat Zone |
Note that the rewards you can obtain from Outlast are not limited to the ones listed above. These rewards are simply the most common ones that can be acquired, as per our testing.
Since you have to stay and protect the area, you won't be able to move as much compared to when doing other contracts. It's best to have a couple of armor plates ready to replenish your armor if you are overwhelmed.
How to Get 3-Plate Armor Vests
Although it is not necessary to have a full squad while doing this contract, it is recommended, as having more players in the area can help you secure entry points, and you can cover each other from the horde.
