Completing a Daily Challenge will reward you with 2500 XP. You can find these on the top left corner of the multiplayer lobby screen. Take note that you can only do a maximum of three challenges per day, and the tasks listed here rotate on a day-to-day basis.

Win Matches in Multiplayer

Winning and emerging victorious in matches will give you more XP as opposed to losing. To increase your chances of winning, focus on completing objectives as these will lead your team to victory.

Obtain a Lot of Kills

Modern Warfare 3 - Obtain a Lot of Kills

You can get a lot of XP by racking up a lot of kills in-game. There are also small XP bonuses that you can receive by scoring headshots, getting revenge kills on your nemesis, and avenging dead teammates.

A great tip would be to use the weapon that you're most comfortable with, as well as deploying Killstreaks when available to help you in maximizing your kill count.

Prioritize Objectives in a Match

Accomplishing the objectives of a game mode can net you a decent amount of XP over time. Always focus on capturing key points in Domination, holding the target area in Hardpoint, and grabbing dog tags in Kill Confirmed.
