Global Release Times and Schedule

Modern Warfare 3 open beta had four release times, accommodating all platforms and crossplay features. PlayStation players had exclusive access to the beta on October 8, and on October 6 if they pre-ordered.

Players on Xbox and PC platforms could officially participate starting on October 14, but they were able to play early on October 12 if they pre-purchased the game.

Will Open Beta Progress Transfer Over to the Full Game?

No, Beta Progress Won't Transfer Over

Open beta progress will not carry over to the full game when it releases on November 10, 2023. It means you won't get to keep all the experience, weapons, and stats you've gained throughout the beta.

There are five playable 6v6 Mosh Pit maps available in the open beta of Modern Warfare 3: Estate, Favela, Rust, Skidrow and Highrise. Two other maps called Popov Power and Orlov Military Base are playable via the Ground War mode.

Level 20 Cap for First Weekend

The Modern Warfare 3 open beta capped levels at level 20 for the first weekend of play, which lasted from October 6 at 10:00 AM to October 10 at 10:00 AM PT.

What is the Max Level?

Level 30 Cap for Second Weekend

For the second weekend, the Modern Warfare 3 open beta extended its level cap to level 30. This took place from October 12 at 10:00 AM to October 16 at 10:00 AM PT. Players who progressed to Level 30 unlocked the Jabber Tester Operator Skin.

Is the Open Beta Free?

Yes, Open Beta is Free

Modern Warfare 3 beta was free to all players and on all platforms available. You could get early access to the beta if you pre-ordered any game editions.

Beta Code is Needed Outside of Official Stores

You need to get a Beta Code from the retailer where you bought your pre-order copy of the game. You can get it as soon as you purchase the game, but you can ask the store if you didn't get one.

Once you get a code, go to Call of Duty's Official Beta Redeem site and enter the code there. You need to login your Activision Account first to do this.

Players who pre-ordered on official stores, like Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, Steam, or Epic Games, won't need to do this!
