The Experimental Playlist features unreleased gameplay adjustments for Multiplayer game modes in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (MW3). Read on to learn more about Experimental Playlist and how to play in the Experimental Playlist!
List of Contents
The Experimental Playlist is a game mode where players can try the planned gameplay adjustments from the MW3's design team. These adjustments may or may not be applied to other game modes on its official release since it's still in its "Experimental Phase."
Players who queued up for this game mode will also get a chance to submit feedback regarding the changes to Sledgehammer Games when they release the official survey a few days after the playlist update.
The current Experimental Playlist features red outlines for hostile Operators, since Operator Skins have made it difficult for players to spot certain skins that can blend into the environment on some MW3 maps. For the Gaia or Groot Skin, this could well be the nerf it needs to be fair in Multiplayer.
Unlike test servers that other games tend to deploy, the MW3 Experimental Playlist still allows you to earn XP and Weapon XP as if you were playing any of the regular Multiplayer game modes. The only difference is that you get to experience potential changes first-hand when queuing for this playlist.
You can find the Experimental Playlist in the home screen of the Multiplayer Game Mode. To participate and play, select the Experimental Playlist from the list and start finding a match.
The Experimental Playlist uses all the Maps, except for Ground War and Invasion. It will cycle between each of the following Multiplayer Game Modes:
