Operator Assists can be earned by simply dealing damage to enemies and letting allies secure the kill in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (MW3). Read on to learn more about Operator Assists and how to get Operator Assists.
Operator Assists can be earned by dealing any amount of damage to enemies and letting your allies secure Operator Kills. Damage dealt by Guns, Lethal Equipment, and Melee Weapons all count towards Operator Assists.
When engaging enemies at long distances, try to use Assault Rifles or Battle Rifles to deal chip damage and let your allies secure the kill.
Using stronger weapons like Marksman Rifles and Sniper Rifles may accidentally finish enemies off, netting you an Operator Kill instead.
If you're playing on maps designed for close-quarters combat like Rust and Skidrow, you can try running around and tag enemies with Shotguns since you only need to deal a small amount of damage.
This strategy works best in conjunction with equipment that improve your movement speed like the Battle Rage and Stim. You're likely to die by rushing into danger, but you can still get assists when you're dead!
Lethal equipment can deal damage and are ideal for dealing chip damage. Breacher Drones and Frag Grenades work best because of their large explosion radius.
If you want to go this route, wear the Demilition Vest and equip the Munitions Box Field Upgrade for more explosives.
