The Drum is used as a key to open the second Dark Aether Rift in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) Zombies. Learn what to do with the drum and how to get the drum.
The Drum is used as one of the four keys to open the new Dark Aether Rift of Zombies Season 2. After obtaining the Drum as a Rift Reward for the Story Mission Countermeasures, keep the Drum in your inventory/stash until you've collected the other 3 keys in order to enter the new Dark Aether Rift.
The other keys you would need are the Tattered MMA Gloves, Perforated Target, and Pristine Mirror.
Dark Aether Easter Egg Guide: How to Get All Keys
Like the first Dark Aether Rift in Zombies Season 1, you'll need to obtain 4 keys to then put on the pedestals in front of the new Dark Aether Rift. The new Dark Aether Rift is found in tile G4 of the main Zombies Map, at the base of the cell tower in the Red Zone.
Unlike with the first Dark Aether Rift, the keys for the new Dark Aether Rift can all be found only within the Countermeasures Story Mission map.
Dark Aether Rift Locations and Rewards
To get the Drum key, you simply need to finish the Act 4 Story Mission Countermeasures. The Drum key is found inside the Reward Rift after defeating the boss Krawvir. Be wary though that it is possible to lose the Drum key if you die with it in your inventory, unless you're equipped with Tombstone.
The Countermeasures story mission is available to all players, regardless of their progression with all other missions.
