Vests are a new type of loadout item introduced as part of the new Perk system of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (MW3). Check out our guide to learn about all the best Vest Perks in the game, including a full list of all Vests you can use for your loadouts!
Vest Perks | Best Uses |
---|---|
Infantry Vest | Best Overall |
Gunner Vest | Best for Offense |
Demolition Vest | Best for Support |
Equipment | How to Unlock | Description |
---|---|---|
Infantry Vest | Reach Level 4 | ・Increases Tac Sprint duration and reduces refresh time. |
The Infantry Vest is the most commonly used vest and by far the most reliable and well rounded out of all. It's considered the best because using this will give you access to all other equipment, giving you more perks and allowing for better customization of your loadouts.
On top of that, you'll get a higher uptime for your Tac Sprint - an ability central to many of MW3's movement techniques like slide cancelling and dolphin diving.
Equipment | How to Unlock | Description |
---|---|---|
Gunner Vest | Reach Level 20 |
・Deploy with max ammo. ・Improved reload speed. ・Can equip two primary weapons. ・Has no Boots slot. |
The Gunner Vest can give you the best offensive loadout since you'll get access to two primary weapons. This is absolutely recommended if you want to increase your firepower and go all-out offensive. The only downside of this vest is that you'll have no access to Boot Perks since you'll lose your Boots slot.
One notable substitute for the Gunner Vest would be the Overkill Vest. This can also provide you with offensive perks, but the downside is that you'll lose your Field Upgrade slot, which is arguably more important than your Boots slot.
Equipment | How to Unlock | Description |
---|---|---|
Demolition Vest | Reach Level 30 |
・Resupply Lethal and Tactical equipment every 25 seconds. ・Has two Lethal Equipment charges. |
The Demolition Vest is the best for supporting your team since it will allow you to use your Lethal and Tactical equipment without having to drop a resupply field upgrade like a Munitions Box. This vest is best paired with the Breacher Drone for easy, guaranteed kills in Multiplayer.

Overkill Vest | Reach Level 50 |
・Increases weapon swap speed. ・Reload while sprinting. ・Can equip two primary or two secondary weapons. ・Has no Field Upgrade slot. |
Assassin Vest | Unlockable from launch of Season 1 | ・Kills don’t display skulls. Immune to UAV and enemy radar effects (including while stationary). |
