The Scorcher is a Wonder Weapon with infinite ammo in the Zombies mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (MW3). Learn how to get and exfil with the Scorcher, as well as how to get the Scorcher Schematic!
List of Contents
Greylorm is a hidden boss in MW3 Zombies that can only be fought inside the Aether Storm after the match time ends. To fight this boss, you will need to collect 4 Calibration Data USBs and place them in the Refractor terminals inside the Aether Storm.
After you kill Greylorm, a Reward Rift will spawn that has a chance to contain a Scorcher Schematic, Flawless Aetherium Crystal Schematic, or a Legendary Aether Tool Schematic.
Do note that these are not guaranteed drops. You will likely need to beat this boss multiple times to get all possible Schematic drops from it.
The only way to exfil with the Scorcher is if you acquire a Scorcher Weapon Case. Once the Weapon Case is opened, you cannot put the Scorcher back inside and you will have to either drop it or use it in your current run.
Weapon Cases can be obtained inside Reward Rifts in the High Treat Zones (Red Zone) or after defeating the Warlord in the Legacy Fortress.
How to Get and Exfil Wonder Weapons
Exfiltrating an equipped Scorcher (without a Weapon Case) will automatically convert it to 400 Bonus XP. The game prevents you from having contraband Wonder Weapons, as the rarity of all Contraband Weapons automatically becomes Common.
Insured Slots and Contraband Explained
The Scorcher is a possible drop found in the Reward Rift after defeating the Warlord in the Legacy Fortress. Although difficult and can only be done once per match, this method has a better drop rate for the Scorcher than random Mystery Boxes—and it's free!
Other Wonder Weapons are also possible drops in the Legacy Fortress reward rift.
You can obtain the Scorcher by taking your chance with the random Mystery Box pulls or the low drop rate of its Weapon Case in Contract Reward Rifts.
Like other Wonder Weapons, the Scorcher has the chance to be pulled from the Mystery Box for 950 Essence. You can't exfil with the Scorcher obtained via the Mystery Box.
