The Don't Trust That Snake Oil Challenge is one of the Challenges in Resident Evil Village. The Challenge is to complete a playthrough using only four or less recovery items. It may sound difficult to achieve, but Game8 has you covered on how to unlock this challenge!
How to Get the Don't Trust That Snake Oil Trophy?
Play on Casual
We strongly recommend playing the game on Casual when attempting to complete this challenge. This makes all your enemies weaker and more vulnerable to gunfire. This also ensures that the damage you take will be lessened
Save Often
It's imperative that you create manual saves as often as possible. This allows you to get back to a previous point where you had more health.
The game has an Auto Save function. Passing through certain areas immediately creates an Auto Save Point. If you are killed, you will be given the option of going back to the last Auto Save Point. If your last Auto Save Point already has you low on health, just reload your last Manual Save with you having more, if not complete, health.
Block Often
Always remember to block if you can't evade their attack as it will lessen the damage you'll receive, and you'll be able to hit them back quickly. You can also push them back if you've successfully blocked their attack.
Cook all available Dishes
Make sure you consume all the dishes available in The Duke's kitchen. Some of the dishes drastically improve your resistance to damage. You also get to increase your max HP, movement speed, depending on the dish you have taken.

Unlock Infinite Ammo
Make sure you have unlocked Infinite Ammo for your weapons before you attempt this challenge. Having Infinite Ammo makes it easier to take out enemies before they close in your position.

 Dragoon |
The Dragoon is available when you start an New Game+. It requires no upgrades and is already a formidable weapon against most enemies. |
 M1851 Wolfsbane |
Most, if not all, enemies only take one Magnum Bullet to go down, making it the most effective weapon to one-shot your enemies with. |
Aqcuire the LZ Answerer
While this is easier said than done, getting the LZ Answerer will make any attempt of completing this challenge a great deal easier. The LZ Answerer has a setting that heals you with every hit you land on an enemy. Getting this weapon won't be easy because you have to complete all the Mercenaries Stages with at least an SS rank.
