To unlock the Into That Pale Wasteland event and its subsequent quests, Proxies must first complete the Chapter 2 Intermission Main Story quest.
Apart from that, Proxies must be at least at Inter-Knot LVL 28.
Chapter 2 Interlude Intermission Guide
Pale Wasteland is the first quest in the Into That Pale Wasteland event. In this quest, you will be introduced to the new and unique Melinoe Hollow, and you will be tasked to explore it alongside Section 6!

The Pale Wasteland Quest is located in the Melinoe: Edge on the Lower Floor!
To begin, speak to Yanagi just outside of Random Play. She'll tell you that Section 6 has accepted a rescue and investigation commission within the new Melinoe Hollow and will need your help in navigation.
Speak to Ferrier at the H.A.N.D. HQ to send Eous into Melinoe and rendezvous with Section 6.
| 1 |  Press forward and meet with Miyabi. Once in control of her, eliminate the first wave of opponents. |

| 2 |  Continue onward and collect your first Irradiant Crystal. |
| 1 |  Turn left and destroy the crates. Get to Agentboo and fix it. |

| 2 |  Return to the previous area and ride the elevator up. |
| 1 |  Go down the ramps and interact with the Ether Phantom Disruptor. |

| 2 |  Adjust the viewfinder to align the bridge pieces. Afterward, press onward. |
| 3 |  Eliminate the second batch of enemies, then continue to the next area. |
| 4 |  Interact with the Ether Topology Disruptor to turn the platform ahead and make a path. |
| 5 |  Eliminate the last batch of enemies, then continue to the Cocytus outpost. |
| 1 |  Speak to Izumi to leave Melinoe. |

| 1 |  Enter Melinoe once more and speak to Izumi for your next objective. |

| 2 |  Press forward and eliminate your first batch of Ethereals. |
| 3 |  Go to the next area and eliminate the second batch of enemies. |
| 4 |  There will be a fissure in the next area. Before interacting with it, be sure to break the barriers behind it and grab the Lost Supply Box beyond. |
| 5 |  Afterwards, interact with the fissure to summon a mob of enemies led by a Thanatos. Eliminate them quickly. |
| 1 |  Proceed to the next area and interact with the Ether Topology Disruptor, which is inoperable due to missing Energy Units. |

| 2 |  Proceed onward grab the first Energy Unit. Afterwards, break the barriers that lay beyond and proceed further. |
| 3 |  Grab the second Energy Unit, then proceed to the next area. |
| 4 |  Eliminate the Ethereals that will spawn in your way. |
| 5 |  Before going for the next unit, check the area beside the stairs you came from for a Lost Supply Box. |
| 6 |  Go to the next area and defeat the Farbauti. Watch out for the surrounding Blastcrawlers. |
| 7 |  After the battle, go down the ramp and grab the third Energy Unit. |
| 8 |  Break the barriers and proceed further. Defeat the enemies led by an Armored Hati. |
| 9 |  Solve the puzzle to summon a spatial fissure. Interact with it to proceed to the next area. |
| 10 |  Eliminate the enemies and proceed onward. |
| 11 |  Grab the final Energy Unit below the ramps. Afterward, interact with the Bangboo Workbench. |
| 12 |  This will be your introduction and tutorial on exploration with Eous. This stage is pretty linear, so follow the instructions to the end of the course while collecting the Dennies along the way. |
| 13 |  Return to the fissure to go back to the previous area. Ride the elevator up. |
| 1 |  You will find yourself back at the Cocytus outpost. Backtrack all the way to the bridge while eliminating the Ethereals in your way. |

| 2 |  Interact with the Ether Topology Disruptor to orient the bridge to the right position. |
| 3 |  Eliminate the next batch of Ethereals. |
| 4 |  Interact with the next Ether Topology Disruptor. |
| 5 |  Go up the ramp to the left of the disruptor and proceed into the hallway. Be sure to check the ramp to the opening on the left for any collectibles. |
| 1 |  Proceed to the final area and defeat Jane's Dopelganger as well as the surrounding Ethereals. Grab the Irradiant Crystal right after. |

| 2 |  You will be taken directly back to the Cocytus outpost. Speak to Izumi to complete the commission and leave Melinoe. |
