Beating The Main Story Might Not Be Mandatory

There is a possibility that Episode Aigis -The Answer- might not be locked behind beating the main story, if going by basis of how the original version of The Answer was released.

In the original PlayStation 2 game Persona 3 Fes, The Answer can be immediately started on the title menu screen. However, players were warned upon starting it that finishing the main story first is recommended and crucial to understanding the contexts of the epilogue.

What is Episode Aigis -The Answer-?

First revealed during the March 2024 Xbox Partner Preview, Episode Aigis -The Answer- is the third and final wave of downloadable content available in the Expansion Pass. It is heavily noted to be the final chapter of Persona 3 Reload.

As noted, Episode Aigis -The Answer- is a direct continuation of the events that happened at the end of the main game's story. The date this story events is well past the final date of Persona 3 Reload's story: March 31st, 2010.

A New Character Named Metis

A new character is confirmed to show up in Episode Aigis -The Answer- named Metis, and she happens to have a striking resemblance to Aigis with android-like features. Her appearance is heavily linked to Aigis, whom she has proclaimed to "protect."

The Abyss of Time

A new dungeon also becomes available to explore called The Abyss of Time, and it is the place where the entire epilogue story is revolved around. Its existence has somehow stuck S.E.E.S. into a time loop, forced to replay the date of March 31st endlessly.
