Vaults 19 and 22 are located in the Northwest mountains, Vault 3 is located in the New Vegas Conurbation Exterior Zones, Vault 21 is located in the New Vegas Strip, Vault 34 is located in the Northeast Territories, and Vault 11 is located in the Central Mountains.
Vaults are facilities designed by Vault-Tec which were intended to shelter people from nuclear war, as well as to conduct contained social experiments under a variety of parameters and scenarios. Because of this, they can be both dangerous points of exploration and invaluable troves of resources, not to mention essential points of progression for certain quests.
