Maria

2 0 15

Benny's unique .9mm pistol, Maria, is arguably the best pistol. As a 9mm unique weapon, it has increased damage and fires rapidly while having higher crit values.

While Maria does not reach Ranger Sequoia's damage output, its main strength is its comfort and sustainability. You can obtain Maria early in the game and get a surplus of 9mm ammo early on. You can use Maria for a long while with any build due to having no requirements.

Ranger Sequoia

62 .45-70 Gov't 0

4-6 75 30

The Ranger Sequoia is the big iron mentioned in the song, and it is not solely because of its commemorative design.

Ranger Sequoia boasts the highest damage per second for all of the pistols in the base game. Furthermore, it uses .45-70 Gov't, one of the stronger but rarer ammo types.

Lucky

If you ever wanted to be the fastest hand in the Wasteland, Lucky is the .357 revolver for you. Along with the usual upgraded stats of a unique weapon, Lucky has significantly decreased AP Costs.

When paired with Grim Reaper's Sprint, you can quickly clear a room full of enemies with multiple V.A.T.S.!

That Gun

That Gun

STR Req. Skill Req. AP
4-6 50 19

That Gun, while wildly unconventional, uses the 5.56mm ammo. With this ammo typing that has multiple variations, it has numerous ways to face any situation. Furthermore, it is the earliest accessible unique pistol since you can get it trivially in Novac's gift store!

That Gun's weakness is also its strength, which is being the sole 5.56mm pistol in the base game. Being that unique means That Gun cannot be conventionally repaired. To repair That Gun, you need to have the Jury Rigging perk or a Weapon Repair Kit or by having it repaired at a weapon shop.

10mm Pistol

10mm Pistol
CND: 80
Damage Ammo Fire Rate

STR Req. Skill Req. AP
2-4 25 17

If you are a fan of customizing weapons with mods, the 10mm Pistol has some of the best mods to install. You can slot in laser sights that decrease the spread and a silencer. Pairing it with a Stealth Boy turns it into a powerful espionage weapon.

The 10mm pistol's weakness is that it is fragile, but it and its ammunition are common in the Wasteland.

Pew Pew

Pew Pew
CND: 80
Damage Ammo Fire Rate
75 E Cell 8
STR Req. Skill Req. AP
1 0 35

Pew Pew, as the name implies, shoots only twice since it consumes five cells per shot. However, you might need only one shot to disintegrate the enemy due to its multi-fire feature, giving it the highest damage of all the energy pistols!

This weapon, however, has two downsides. First is that the Pew Pew uses a lot of ammunition because of its multi-fire feature. The second is that you must finish the The Legend of the Star quest line, which takes some time to get to.

Alien Blaster

Alien Blaster
CND: 500
Damage Ammo Fire Rate
100 Alien Power Cell 1
STR Req. Skill Req. AP
1 75 20

A staple of the Fallout Series, the Alien Blaster is still one of the best guns in New Vegas. With its guaranteed criticals and high damage, it can vaporize any opponent at the opposite side of its foreign barrel.

Like the Pew Pew, it has two downsides. First, its ammo is unique and cannot be replicated, so make sure that whatever you are using it on is worth every shot. The second is that it swaps out the Gauss Rifle, arguably one of the better weapons!

Plasma Defender

Plasma Defender
CND: 100
Damage Ammo Fire Rate
36 E Cell 1
STR Req. Skill Req. AP
2 50 20

If you ever wanted to mix guns and the power of plasma vaporization, the Plasma Defender might be for you! The Plasma Defender is generally an upgrade to the Plasma Pistol as it sports higher damage and is known for its accuracy!
