Karma is Affected by Your Actions

Fallout New Vegas - View Karma

Karma is affected by the actions you do in Fallout New Vegas. You gain karma by doing good deeds and lose karma by doing the opposite.

You can view whether your karma status by opening the Pip-Boy, navigating to Stats, and then to General. There, you'll see an icon along with your karma status and title, which can range from Very Evil, Evil, Neutral, Good, to Very Good.

Very Evil -1000 to -750
Evil -749 to -250
Neutral -249 to 249
Good 250 - 749
Very Good 750 - 1000

Karma in Fallout New Vegas can reach -1000 to +1000. The table above shows which karma value corresponds to each karma type.

Fallout New Vegas Karma Effects

Cass May Leave the Party Permanently

Cass will attempt to leave your party if you have negative karma when you try to talk to her while she's your companion. Passing a Speech check will postpone Cass's departure, giving you a chance to increase your karma and prevent her from leaving.

Additional Dialogue Option for Legate Lanuis

Fallout New Vegas - Legate Lanius Dialogue Option

During the quests All or Nothing, Eureka!, and No Gods, No Masters, you'll have an extra dialogue option when talking to Legate Lanius before battling him. This option is only available if you have either very evil or very good karma, with both offering different dialogue.
