The Gauss Rifle is arguably the best weapon in Fallout New Vegas. It boasts a whopping 120 DAM (Damage per shot) and can one-shot a Deathclaw with a guaranteed critical hit from sneaking.
The Grenade Machinegun is best used against groups of enemies due to its AoE damage and high fire-rate. It can be further improved with mods, such as increasing the rate of fire for higher DPS.
Grenade Machinegun Ammo and ID
The Tesla Cannon fires beams that deal high damage and apply DoT that ticks three times. Firing a shot can be expensive as it consumes five of its ammo per shot. It can kill a Deathclaw in 4 shots plus DoT, making it effective against tough enemies.
The Tri-beam Laser Rifle has 52 DAM, and since it fires three lasers per shot, it'll deal a total of 156 damage per shot. Firing three lasers also means a chance for a critical hit on each laser. That's 3 times the chance of a critical hit per shot!
Tri-beam Laser Rifle Ammo and ID
The YCS/186 is the best unique weapon in Fallout New Vegas. It can kill a Deathclaw in one-shot from afar when aiming at its head while crouched, for the added sneak attack damage bonus.
Keep in mind that it uses 4 ammo in one shot, which makes it a good idea to use it on tougher enemies instead of the weaker ones.
YCS/186 Location, Ammo, and ID
The Ratslayer is an amazing sniper rifle that can one-shot most enemies via headshots. The scope automatically toggles on its night vision at night, and the weapon sway while scoped is barely noticeable.
Ratslayer Location, Ammo, and ID
The CZ57 Avenger is a stronger variant of the Minigun and can kill a Deathclaw in less than 5 seconds using the standard 5mm rounds. It's best used on groups of enemies, as it can quickly kill them due to its fast fire rate.
CZ57 Avenger Location, Ammo, and ID
Oh, Baby! is a unique melee weapon that boasts high damage, but is slow when executing attacks. It's useful for when you've run out of ammo!
It can kill a Deathclaw in 3 charged attacks and 1 normal attack. Just time your attacks right to avoid missing your hits.

STR is short for Strength. It refers to the minimum strength your character needs to have in order to wield a weapon.
For example, you won't be able to wield a weapon that has an STR of 8-10 if your character only has a strength of 7.
You can check your character's strength by opening your Pip-Boy and going to the S.P.E.C.I.A.L tab under STATS.
DAM is short for Damage. It shows how much damage your weapon inflicts each time you use it on an enemy.
WG is short for Weight. It shows how heavy a weapon is.
Make sure you have enough space in your carry weight before picking up a weapon to avoid being encumbered.
You can check your current carry weight on your Pip-Boy by going to Items. Your current carry weight should be shown at the top beside your HP.
VAL is short for Value. It refers to how much your weapon can be sold for with a Trader.
