Anti-Materiel Rifle

Anti-Materiel Rifle
CND: 95
Damage Ammo Fire Rate
110 .50MG 5
STR Req. Skill Req. AP
6-8 100 65

As the name suggests, the Anti-Materiel Rifle is the best rifle because it can dematerialize anyone who faces off against the opposite side of its barrel. The Anti-Materiel Rifle boasts the highest base damage and accuracy of all the sniper rifles, capable of one-shotting a Deathclaw from nowhere.

The Anti-Materiel Rifle is also the only rifle compatible with the .50MG rounds, known for explosive customizations. However, the Anti-Materiel rifle is a bolt-action rifle, so it can be late to fire follow-up shots even if you would not need to.

This Machine

This Machine
CND: 600
Damage Ammo Fire Rate
65 0.308 Round 1
STR Req. Skill Req. AP
4-6 75 22

This Machine is the Mojave's take on the M1 Garand Rifle! This Machine is a satisfying weapon due to its high accuracy, damage, and critical values. It has a quick reload and the iconic "ping" sound when doing so!

Unlike the M1 Garand, This Machine is well known for its longevity in battle since it has the highest CND out of all the rifles! However, This Machine has a downside where its iron sights are slightly off-center.

All-American

All-American
CND: 400
Damage Ammo Fire Rate
26 5.56mm 1
STR Req. Skill Req. AP
2-4 100 20

If you ever felt like dishing out patriotism in the Wasteland, All-American is the perfect gun for you! All-American is hands down the best fully automatic rifle due to its high damage, low spread, and V.A.T.S. cost. All-American also has a sniper scope, so it is best for mid-long-range combat.

Given that it is a solid weapon, it is rather challenging to obtain since you need to reach the ends of the Ghoul-infested Vault 34.

Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle

Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle
CND: 160
Damage Ammo Fire Rate
60 0.308 Round 1
STR Req. Skill Req. AP
4-6 75 33

Being quick is not often an adjective related to snipers, but the Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle is exactly that. You will feel like a Cazador with this weapon as you are still mobile while having the ability to deal high amounts of damage due to its fast fire rate and astonishing critical values.

However, to get a hold of this weapon, you must invest in getting a 100 skill on Lockpicking. If you can clear this requirement, the Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle is worth it!

Brush Gun

Brush Gun
CND: 150
Damage Ammo Fire Rate
75 .45-70 Gov't 1
STR Req. Skill Req. AP
4-6 100 23

The Brush Gun, while simple, is a consistent weapon for comfortability. It deals significant damage, has one of the better sights in the game, and is moddable to cover for its low CND.

However, the Brush Gun uses a tubular reload system, meaning you reload bullets one at a time. While you can cancel your reload, the Brush Gun takes a long time to get a fully loaded cartridge.

Energy Rifles

YCS/186

YCS/186
CND: 100
Damage Ammo Fire Rate
140 MF Cell 1
STR Req. Skill Req. AP
3-5 75 40

The YCS/186 is arguably the best unique weapon in Fallout New Vegas. This unique variant of the Gauss Rifle, at the cost of consuming 4 ammunition, is built around its insane critical multiplier and accuracy. Due to the sheer amount of power this rifle has, it often sends enemies flying when hit!

The YCS/186, even with the ammo consumption and slow reload, still performs. However, the main downside is that it discourages the use of V.A.T.S. use since it cannot deal the maximum amount of damage it can do.

Q-35 Matter Modulator

Q-35 Matter Modulator
CND: 250
Damage Ammo Fire Rate
32 MF Cell 1
STR Req. Skill Req. AP
2 25 28

Spitting plasma and turning enemies into goop has never felt so good without the Q-35 Matter Modulator! This unique variant of the plasma rifle boasts the highest CND out of all the energy rifles and has a low V.A.T.S. cost.

The Q-35 Matter Modulator, while dealing significantly more damage than Laser Rifles, is held back by being a plasma weapon. Unlike Laser Rifles, this weapon has projectile velocity and takes time to reach its targets.

Tri-beam Laser Rifle

Tri-beam Laser Rifle
CND: 50
Damage Ammo Fire Rate
52 MF Cell 1
STR Req. Skill Req. AP
2-4 75 23

If you ever liked the Laser Rifle, triple the amount of firepower with the Tri-beam Laser Rifle! This variant of the laser rifle fires out three laser beams at once, each having the chance to score a critical hit.

The Tri-beam Laser Rifle feels like a weird mix between a rifle and a shotgun but with the positives of each tree. However, this weapon is held back by having a miniscule amount of CND and an unfavorable spread.
