My Kind of Town Side Quest Walkthrough

How to Unlock My Kind of Town

Talk to Johnson Nash or Help Deputy Beagle

To start this quest, you can either talk to Deputy Beagle after saving him inside the Bison Steve Hotel or speak directly to Johnson Nash at the Vikki and Vance building.

Talk to Johnson Nash or Save Deputy Beagle

There are two different ways to start this side quest. You can either save Deputy Beagle from the convicts at the Bison Steve Hotel and talk to him outside, or you can talk to Johnson Nash inside the Vikki and Vance building. You can ask either of them about restoring order in Primm, which will automatically start the quest.

Choose A New Sheriff for Primm

Your next objective is to look for a new sheriff for Primm. You will have three different options to choose from, depending on how you want to progress the side quest.

Make Primm Slimm Sheriff

You can make Primm Slimm the sheriff by talking to him inside the Vikki and Vance building and reprogramming him with 30 Skill Points in Science. Once the conversation ends, you do not need to return to Johnson Nash or Deputy Beagle, and the quest will automatically end.

Make McGee Sheriff

If you want to make McGee the sheriff, you need to go to Lieutenant Hayes, who can be found at the camp surrounded by rubble on the southwestern side of Primm. He will then ask you to go to the Mojave Outpost and talk to Major Knight to get reinforcements. After this, return to Lieutenant Hayes, and he will agree to make McGee the new sheriff of Primm.

Make Meyers Sheriff

You can also go to the NCR Correctional Facility and look for Meyers. He will tell you about his previous job and that he is willing to become the sheriff if he gets a pardon from the NCR.

After the conversation, you need to head to the Mojave Outpost and convince Major Knight to pardon Meyers. You can do this by either choosing the dialogue option that requires 30 Skill Points in Speech or by paying 200 caps to set Meyers free. Once the conversation is over, return to Primm and talk to Meyers to complete this quest.

Best Choice for My Kind of Town

Reprogram Slimm Primm

Choosing whether to save Deputy Beagle or going straight to Johnson Nash will not affect the outcome of the quest. However, when it comes to choosing the sheriff, it is recommended to choose Primm Slimm to get the maximum amount of XP for completing this side quest.
