Fallout New Vegas - How to Holster Weapons

Holster weapons by holding the reload button or key in Fallout New Vegas (FNV). Read on and learn how to holster weapons and what are the benefits of holstering weapons!

How to Holster Weapons

Hold the Reload Button

Hold the button or key assigned to the Reload action to holster your weapon. Holstering while unarmed only requires tapping the Reload button once.

Though it's not considered holstering, you can access the Pip-Boy and unequip the weapon to remove it.

Benefiits of Holstering Weapon

Remove Accidental Aggro of NPCs Once

If you accidentally shoot a non-hostile NPC, you can quickly holster your weapon to remove their aggro and stop them from fighting you. This can only be done once, as they won't stop attacking if you "accidentally" shoot them again. Be cautious, as this is not applicable to all NPCs.
