Begin Final Battle

Fallout New Vegas - How to Unlock Eureka

Agree with Colonel Moore to begin the final battle. Depending on the choices you make during the game, major and minor factions may make an appearance to either aid you or fight against you.

Faction Appearance Notes
Boomers They will aid you if you completed the Volare! Side Quest and then asked for their help.
Great Khans They will make an appearance if the Khans aren't convinced to leave the wasteland in the Oh My Papa quest.
Brotherhood of Steel They will make an appearance if Still in the Dark Side Quest is completed and a truce between them and the NCR is negotiated.
Enclave Remnants They will make an appearance if you completed the For Auld Lang Syne side quest and asked them to assist the NCR.

Flush the Legionnaires (Optional)

Steps to Flush Legionnaires

Climb the stairs and then turn right.

Follow the path until you reach the door to Power Plant 03. Enter to the next room.

Find and activate the console on the same floor. It requires 65 Science.

Follow local map quest marker to exit to the dam.

Activae the pressure release valve.

Head to Legate's Camp

Fallout New Vegas - NCR Ranger Veteran Commander

Head to Legate's Camp outside the dam. Depending on where you exit, you may encounter a squad of NCR soldiers you can ask to support you on your way to the camp, so you won't have to deal with the Legion soldiers on your own.

Deal With Legate

Fallout New Vegas - Legate Lanius

At the camp, on top of a hill, you will find Legate Lanius. You can convince him to leave peacefully if you have a Speech 100 or Barter 100 or you can kill him.

Ending

Fallout New Vegas - General Lee Oliver

After dealing with Legate, return to the gate to interact with General Lee Oliver a final time. The game ends with a narration that sums up the effects of the choices you made throughout your playthrough.

You cannot continue to explore the wasteland after the end.

Fallout New Vegas - How to Unlock Eureka

After completing For the Republic Part 2, agree to begin the final battle to unlock this quest. Agreeing to proceed will be a point-of-no-return for the game that leads to the ending, locking you out of side quests and exploration.

Eureka! Rewards

No Rewards

Completing this quest will end the game, so no rewards are provided.
