List of Objectives | |
---|---|
1 | Recover The Platinum Chip From Benny (if you haven't) |
2 | Infiltrate Mr House's Control Room ┗ Fails The House Always Wins Quests |
3 | Kill or Disable Mr. House ┗ Fails The Moon Comes Over the Tower Side Quest if killed |
4 | Report Back to Yes Man |
5 | ┗ Fails the NCR and Legion questlines if Wild Card: Side Bets is already complete. Reward: 500 XP |
Depending on your progress with the story, you may or may not have the objective of recovering the Platinum Chip from Benny. The Platinum Chip can be recovered from Benny during the Ring-a-Ding Ding! after killing him or during the Render Unto Caesar main quest if Benny was able to escape.
Go to the Lucky 38 Penthouse to find and infiltrate Mr. House's control room. The room will be hidden behind 2 doors that can be opened through terminals. The securitrons will become hostile as soon as you open the first door so be ready for a fight.
If you have the Platinum Chip, these doors can be opened with no additional steps. If you don't have the Platinum Chip, there are other ways to gain access. However, we recommend you get the Platinum Chip as it will be required for the next objectives in the quest anyway.
Ways to Reach Control Room Without Platinum Chip |
---|
・Acquire a Lucky 38 VIP Keycard from the H&H Tools Factory ・Acquire a Lucky 38 VIP Keycard from Camp Golf ・Have 75 Science |
As soon as you open the first door with the terminal, Mr House's questline, The House Always Wins, will immediately fail and an allegiance to Mr. House will no longer be possible.
Once in the control room, you will encounter a final terminal. Activating the terminal will reveal Mr. House in the chamber ahead. Terminate Mr. House through the terminal or by attacking him. For the main quests, choosing to kill or disable Mr. House has no difference.
However, killing Mr. House will fail The Moon Comes Over the Tower side quest, if it has already been started. Disabling Mr. House will allow the quest to proceed as normal.
Head back to Yes Man to report what happened to Mr. House. Depending on your progress with other quests, Yes Man may be in Benny's suite or standing outside of The Tops Casino.
If you already have the Platinum Chip, you can ask Yes Man to meet you at the Lucky 38 penthouse. If not, then you will need to recover the Platinum Chip first before progressing further.
The final step for this quest is to meet Yes Man at the Lucky 38 Penthouse where you'll watch a series of cutscenes that involves Yes Man installing himself to the Lucky 38 mainframe and upgrading the securitrons' weapons in the basement.
Note that completing this quest and Wild Card: Side Bets will fail the NCR and Caesar's Legion main quests, locking you out of siding with them.
During the Ring-a-Ding Ding! main quest, you will have several chances to enter Benny's suite. In there, you'll find Yes Man. Talk to him about taking over Vegas to unlock the quest.
You will get Wild Card: Ace in the Hole after killing Benny, but you don't have to do them in order.
The only major choice in this quest is whether to infiltrate Mr. House's control room first or to recover the Platinum Chip first as you can do them in any order you like. However, we recommend that you get the Platinum Chip first as it eliminates any extra steps and it will be needed for the quest's later objectives.
