Three-Card Bounty Side Quest Walkthrough

How to Unlock Three-Card Bounty

Talk to Major Dhatri

The Three Card Bounty quest can be unlocked by talking to Major Dhatri in the middle of Camp McCarran. He will inform you about three fiends that you need to hunt down in order to complete this side quest.

Three-Card Bounty Walkthrough

Locate Major Dhatri at Camp McCarran

To start this quest, look for Major Dhatri at Camp McCarran. He can be found standing in the middle of an open area surrounded by sandbags.

Choose A Target From Major Dhatri

After receiving the quest, you can choose any of the three targets you need to eliminate. You can complete these bounties in any order.

However, your target's head must still be recognizable. Damaging your target's head will drastically reduce the reward you receive when turning them in. Additionally, completely destroying all of your targets' heads will automatically fail the quest. You can obtain your target's head after defeating them and inspecting their corpse.

Eliminate Violet

Fast travel to the Poseidon Gas Station and then face south. From here, you will be able to spot Violetta and her guard dogs. Try to eliminate all of her dogs first before dealing with Violetta to avoid accidentally shooting her in the head.

Eliminate Driver Nephi

Go to the Samson Rock Crushing Plant and head northwest to the ruins to find Nephi and his guards waiting for you. If you decide to ask Lieutenant Gorobets for assistance, you can lure the enemies into the plant for a safer route.

Ask Lieutenant Gorobets For Assistance (Optional)

Before hunting down Nephi, you can talk to Lieutenant Gorobets inside one of the tents in Camp McCarran to ask for assistance. He will help you during the shootout when confronting Nephi. This is completely optional and can be skipped entirely. It won't affect the rewards or the outcome of the side quest.

Eliminate Cook-Cook

Fast travel to the South Vegas Ruins Entrance, and you will find ruins behind you. In these ruins, you can find Cook-Cook and some other fiends defending the area. Immediately look for cover and hunt down Queenie, Cook-Cook's pet Brahmin. Shoot Queenie to make Cook-Cook go berserk, and then hide as he eliminates everyone in the area. After everyone is killed, you can fight Cook-Cook one-on-one, making the fight much easier.

Talk to Little Buster to Learn Cook-Cook's Weakness (Optional)

Upon taking the bounty for Cook-Cook, you can talk to Little Buster near the trucks practicing on a training dummy. If you talk to him, you will learn about Cook-Cook's pet Brahmin, which you can kill later during the fight to make Cook-Cook go berserk. This section is optional and can be skipped without any consequence.

You can find Queenie on the west side of the South Vegas Ruins Entrance along with the rest of the Brahmins they keep for food.

Return to Major Dhatri

After eliminating all three marks and turning in the heads, return to Major Dhatri to complete the quest.

Best Choice for Three-Card Bounty

Avoid Damaging the Head

As much as possible, try to avoid damaging your targets' heads to get the maximum rewards from Major Dhatri when turning them in. This way, you can receive 250 caps per head instead of just 50 for a damaged head.

Talk to Lieutenant Gorobets

Although it is optional to ask Lieutenant Gorobets for assistance during the Driver Nephi hunt, it is highly recommended, as it makes the fight much easier.
