The Reminiscence Device Tips and Strategy

Bring Healing, KO Recovery, and CP Recovery Items

Before taking on this challenge, we recommend buying plenty of healing, KO recovery, and CP recovery items first. This boss rush won't allow you to travel back to an inn or a camp to recover. There also aren't any mysterious lights along the way to heal your entire team before each fight.

How to Defeat Phantom Balseph

Tips
Dodge his slam, jump, swing, and charge attacks.
Keep an eye on the fire creature and dodge its fireballs.
Play as Alphen.

Phantom Balseph wields a big battle axe that he swings around to attack your team.

He can use his axe to perform a slam attack, jump attack, swing attack, and a charge attack. When he telegraphs his moves, that is your cue to dodge so you can avoid taking damage.

Phantom Balseph also fights alongside a massive fire creature that can throw fireballs at your team. These fireballs will then erupt into a fiery pillar. Keep an eye on the fire creature and dodge its fireballs.

For this fight, we recommend using Alphen so you can distract Phantom Balseph from attacking characters with low HP and defenses.

How to Defeat Phantom Ganabelt

Tips
Equip Alexandrite.
Utilize your dodge and items.
Use Boost Attacks efficiently.

Phantom Ganabelt is a powerful light artes user and can cast illusions to cause distractions.

He is capable of teleporting to your character quickly and perform a rush attack. When he teteports next to your character, dodge right away.

Phantom Ganabelt's trump card is called Indignation. When he loses half of his HP, he will summon clones of himself and erect a large barrier while he casts the arte. This attack is unavoidable so we recommend equipping your team with Alexandrite to reduce the damage they'll take from indignation.

Use Law's boost attack to break Ganabelt's barrier and Rinwell's boost attack to prevent Ganabelt from casting.

How to Defeat Phantom Dohalim

Tips
Avoid his Rod Twirls.
Attack when he rests.
Use Kisara's Boost Attack to stop his charges.

Just like the other phantoms, Phantom Dohalim uses his rods to attack and cast artes.

He can twirl his rods around to cause multiple hits to your team. At times, he can even blast your characters in the air and attack them some more.

Phantom Dohalim can also perform consecutive charge attacks that will bite off a huge chunk of your HP if you got caught in the way. Block this using Kisara's boost attack to avoid taking damage.

An astounding earth artes user, Dohalim can perform Stalagmite and B Naturae. Stalagmite causes pillars of stone to erupt from the ground and B Naturae causes big chunks of rocks to rain from the sky.

For this fight, be sure to utilize your dodge, use Kisara's boost attacks, and attack when he rests to emerge victorious.

How to Defeat Phantom Almeidrea and Mesmald

Tips
Dodge the duo's attacks.
Equip Elemental Defense Accessories.

Phantom Almeidrea and Mesmald fight just like their real world counterparts.

Phantom Mesmald can damage your characters with a scratch using its talons and spew fire with its mouth that leaves a path of fire in its wake.

Near the end of the fight, Almeidrea will gather energy into Mesmald, allowing the dragon to cause fireballs to fall down to the ship. Stay away from these fireballs by looking at the faint orange glow on the ground.

Aside from fire, Mesmald can also harness the power of the wind by spitting wind beams at your team and spinning up cyclones. Almeidrea's ace, Chaotic Disaster, will make this even worse by summoning even more cyclones in the field.

A large majority of Mesmald's attacks will be focused around the elements. To reduce the amount of damage you take from it, equip your party with elemental defense accessories such as the Resist Ring.

How to Defeat Phantom Vholran

Tips
Keep moving.
Use Dohalim and Alphen's Boost Attacks.
Interrupt him from casting artes.

Phantom Vholran can move very quickly and cast powerful artes at your team.

Just like Lord Vholran, Phantom Vholran is a skilled sword wielder. He will chase your character aggressively and slash them with his sword.

One of Phantom Vholran's attacks is a blast of ice shards that spread in a small area directly in front of him after he strikes the ground. This attack may leave your characters frozen so avoid it as much as you can.

He can also cast powerful artes like a whirlpool that damages your characters for as long as they stay in it. When in over limit mode, he'll cast Lex Talionis - a powerful water arte that shoots water geysers from the ground. Avoid the geysers by looking at the blue glow on the ground.

To fight Phantom Vholran, you need to keep moving and liberally use Dohalim and Alphen's boost attacks. You may also want to interrupt him from casting artes to avoid damage.

Fight the Phantom Lords

The next phase of the fight will pit you against all five of the phantom lords. Fortunately, you'll just have to fight them two at a time.

The fight starts with your team against Phantom Balseph and Phantom Ganabelt. You may want to take down Phantom Ganabelt first because his teleportation, series of rush attacks, and Indignation will prove to be even more difficult with Phantom Almeidrea and Mesmald around.

After taking down Phantom Ganabelt, Phantom Almeidrea and Mesmald will join the battlefield. We recommend defeating Almeidrea and Mesmald next since Balseph's attacks are pretty slow and easy to dodge. When these two are taken care of, you'll only have one phantom lord to worry about - Phantom Vholran.

How to Defeat Phantom Zephyr

Tips
Avoid his electrified charge punch.
Stay away from him when he's gathering energy.
Keep your distance when he's in Over Limit Mode.
Have two healers in the team.

The last Phantom you'll need to beat is Phantom Zephyr. This heart-wrenching reunion will definitely tug your heartstrings. Steel yourself for the battle though because Zephyr will definitely land a blow on your team if you're not careful.

Where else could Law have gotten his martial arts prowess but his own dad? Zephyr definitely packs a punch, and a few kicks, in this fight.

One of Phantom Zephyr's attacks is an electrified charge punch. At one point during the fight, you might see him charging his punch with electricity. Getting hit with this attack will damage and stagger your character. It's best to avoid this attack as much as possible.

Phantom Zephyr can also gather fire energy from the surroundings and let it all out by slamming the ground. This move affects a large area of the battlefield and will bite off a huge chunk of your characters' HP.

When in over limit mode, he performs Exquisite Thunder Punch - a powerful upward punch that brings about an eruption of electricity from the ground. Anyone inside the affected area will be greatly damaged if not KO'd.

For this fight, we recommend having Dohalim and Shionne in your team so you'll have two healers that will keep your team healthy. We recommend watching his every move so you can avoid taking damage when he telegraphs his attacks.
