Valentine's Ephraim Skills at 5★

Might: 16 Range: 1

If foe initiates combat or foe's HP ≥ 75% at start of combat, inflicts Atk/Def-X on foe during combat (X = number of allies within 3 spaces of unit × 4, + 6; max 14) and reduces damage from attacks by 30% (excluding area-of-effect Specials), and restores 7 HP to unit after combat. If foe initiates combat or foe's HP ≥ 75% at start of combat, when unit's Special triggers, neutralizes foe's "reduces damage by X%" effects from foe's non-Special skills (excluding when dealing damage with an area-of-effect Special).

Cooldown Count = 3
Boosts Special damage by 40% of unit's Def when Special triggers. If foe's Range = 1 and unit or foe's Special is ready or triggered before or during this combat, reduces damage from foe's next attack by 40% (once per combat; excluding area-of-effect Specials).

Grants HP+5. At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 50%, grants Atk/Def+7 to unit during combat, and also, if unit is within 2 spaces of an ally with HP > 50%, inflicts Special cooldown charge -1 on foe per attack during combat (only highest value applied; does not stack).

At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25% and unit initiates combat, foe can counterattack before unit's first attack. At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, inflicts Atk/Def-5 on foe, unit attacks twice, and neutralizes effects that inflict "Special cooldown charge -X" on unit during combat, and also, when unit deals damage to foe during combat, restores 7 HP to unit (triggers even if 0 damage is dealt).

If a foe uses sword, lance, axe, breath, or beast damage & initiates combat against an ally with 2 spaces of unit, triggers【Savior】on unit.
If Savior triggers, grants Atk/Def+4 during combat.
【Savior】
Unit takes ally’s space, enters combat in ally’s place, and receives all after-combat effects.
Doesn't trigger if ally is on terrain that unit can't move to or if multiple units are able to use Savior during the same combat. If Savior triggers, after-combat movement effects don't occur.

Recommended IVs

HP (21) Normal HP ★★★★☆
Atk (9) Attack Boon ★★★★★
Spd (4) Spd Bane ★☆☆☆☆

Res (11) Res Boon ★★★★☆

◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws

See the IV Checker for All Units Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs

When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

+Atk / -Spd

The best IVs for Valentine's Ephraim are +Atk and -Spd. Atk is a superboon, and Valentine's Ephraim's base Atk stat is the highest in the game at base 48; taking the superboon would raise it to base 52 and make him even more of a threat to knock out his foes.

Valentine's Ephraim's Spd is abysmal at only base 17 and is among the lowest in the entire game. Taking it as a bane will not impact any of his matchups.

+Atk for a +10 merge

We recommend +Atk when merging Valentine's Ephraim up to +10 to improve his damage output and increase the chances of knocking out his foes in one hit.

How to Use, Explanation

Valentine's Ephraim's base kit already excels in a Near Save role, protecting his allies from melee attacks. Atk/Def Form 3 is the Sacred Seal of choice as it synergizes well with Righteous Lance's ally proximity requirements.

Valentine's Ephraim Strengths

Righteous Lance has great defensive effects both in and out of combat

Valentine

Valentine's Ephraim comes with his own exclusive weapon in Righteous Lance. This lance grants Atk/Def+4 to all allies within 3 spaces of Ephraim during their combat and restores 7 HP to those allies after every combat they enter.

As for Ephraim, Righteous Lance inflicts Atk/Def penalties onto his foe based on the number of allies within 3 spaces of Ephraim , grants Ephraim 30% damage reduction, neutralizes his foe's non-Special damage reduction skills, and heals 7 HP after combat.

This powerful lance is useful at all times and makes Valentine's Ephraim a valuable ally to bring to any battle.

Sunlit Bangle D grants a brave attack and powerful sustain

Valentine's Ephraim also comes with his own exclusive B skill in Sunlit Bangle D. This skill forces his foes to always attack first (if able), inflicts Atk/Def-5 onto his foe and slows down their Special cooldown charges per attack, preventing them from accumulating Special cooldown charges before they retaliate against Ephraim.

It also grants Ephraim a brave attack and heals him for 7 HP for each attack he makes, ensuring his HP is topped off consistently.

Valentine's Ephraim Weaknesses

Weak to Armor Effective Weapons

Valentine's Ephraim takes 1.5x damage from armor-effective weapons like Slaying Hammer+, Randgríðr, or Thani, and one blow from this type of weapon will deal significant damage. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
