As a hero obtainable only through Tempest Trials, Valentine's Eliwood will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.

+Atk/-HP

The best IVs for Valentine's Eliwood are +Atk and -HP. Valentine's shines best in being a single-hit attacker as his Spd is not that low, but it is quite unreliable compared to more powerful units. A +Atk IV synergizes with his kit to effectively fill this niche. His HP stat is of less importance, so it is safe to take it as a bane.

+Spd for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Spd IV when merging Valentine's Eliwood to 10. At +10 Merges, Valentine's Eliwood's Atk will reach such high levels that pushing it up higher is a waste, considering he has access to Fire Boost 3. At this point, it would be better to opt with a +Spd IV instead to help him take less follow-up attacks and allow him to make some follow-up attacks on his own. Follow-up attacks also speed up special activation so make sure to get an offensive special attack onto Eliwood.

How to Use, Explanation

This set is designed to give Eliwood tools to accelerate Glacies for consistent nuking power A/R Far Save 3 can also be said to help accelerate Glacies especially when combined with Distant Stance. This is because it increases the number of combat actions Eliwood takes part in. For the Sacred Seal slot, you can also go for Mystic Boost 3 for a more defensive build especially if he doesn't have staff allies to depend on. You can also go for Special Fighter 3 in the B slot.

Valentine's Eliwood is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Valentine Eliwood Strengths

Neutralizes Ranged Foe's Bonuses

Casa Blanca+ neutralizes foe's bonuses if they are ranged units. Being able to battle ranged units such as bow, staff, tome, and dagger users, at an advantage is V!Eliwood's strength. However, note tht it doesn't disable bonuses that activate when foe initates or enters combat.

Buffs Atk if HP is Higher than Foe's

Fire Boost 3 grants +6 Atk if Eliwood's HP ≥ foe’s HP+3. Unlike Death Blow 3, it also activates when Valentine's Eliwood performs counterattacks, making it a goood enemy phase skill as well.

Buff to Armored Allies

Goad Armor grants +4 Atk/Spd to armored allies that are within 2 spaces of Valentine's Eliwood. Unlike other skills such as Hone Armor, Valentine's Eliwood does not need to be near the ally at the start of the battle. As long as he is near when the ally enters combat, they will enjoy the benefits of this offensive buff.
