What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Weapon skill grants Special charge acceleration, 7 HP healing, and another action to unit when unit uses a Rally Assist, grants bonus stats, damage reduction on foe's first attack, and a brave attack to unit, and neutralizes effects that prevent unit's follow-ups and effects that slow down unit's Special charges. |
Might: 16 Range: 1 Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). If a Rally Assist skill is used by unit, grants "Special cooldown charge +1 per attack during combat (only highest value applied; does not stack)" to unit for 1 turn and restores 7 HP to unit, and afterward, once per turn, grants unit another action. At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5 to unit, neutralizes effects that prevent unit's follow-up attacks, and reduces damage from foe's first attack by 40% during combat ("first attack" normally means only the first strike; for effects that grant "unit attacks twice," it means the first and second strikes), and also, if "Special cooldown charge +1 per attack during combat (only highest value applied; does not stack)" is active on unit, neutralizes effects that inflict "Special cooldown charge -X" on unit during combat and unit attacks twice. |
Range: 1 Grants Atk/Spd +6 to target ally for 1 turn. |
Cooldown Count = 3 Boosts damage by X% of unit's Atk when Special triggers (if foe is armored, X = 40; otherwise, X = 30). If Special triggers, neutralizes foe's "reduces damage by X%" effects from non-Special skills. |
If unit or foe initiates combat after moving to a different space, grants bonus to unit's Atk/Spd during combat = X + 6 (X = number of spaces moved by whoever initated combat; max 4.) If X ≥ 2, neutralizes unit's penalties to Atk/Spd during combat. |
Enables 【Canto (Rem. +1; Min 2)】. Inflicts Spd/Def-4 on foe during combat and unit deals +7 damage including when dealing damage with a Special triggered before combat. 【Canto (Rem. +1; Min 2)】 After an attack, Assist skill, or structure destruction, unit can move spaces = any movement not already used that turn + 1 (min 2; if unit used a movement skill that warped them, its remaining movement is 2). |

When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Spring Sylvain are +Spd and -Res. Boosting Spd helps him keep up with the fastest metagame units and prevents them from creating a follow-up attack through a Spd check.
Sylvain's Res is a clear dump stat at only base 21, and can be safely taken as a bane as it will not change any of his matchups.
We recommend +Spd when merging Spring Sylvain up to +10 to help him prevent follow-up attacks from faster foes.

Syivain's base kit is good enough to perform as an offensive unit. Incite Atk/Spd is used as it synergizes well with Sylvain's base kit.

Spring Sylvain's base kit already functions well as an offensive unit. Atk Smoke 4 is the budget option as it is available from Divine Codes and works well with Sylvain too, preventing foe's follow-up attacks to help him survive.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Spring Sylvain is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Spring Sylvain's exclusive weapon Flingster Spear provides multiple buffs when using a Rally skill.
Upon using a Rally skill, Flingster Spear grants Sylvain Special cooldown charge +1 per attack, 7 HP healing, and more importantly, an extra action (once per turn). This effect allows Sylvain to provide the Rally bonuses to his allies while helping himself to some additional beneficial effects while retaining his action.
In combat, Flingster Spear grants Sylvain Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5 and 40% damage reduction on his foe's first attack, neutralizes effects that prevent his follow-up attacks, and if Sylvain has a Special cooldown charge +1 per attack
effect active on him, Flingster Spear also neutralizes effects that slow down Sylvain's Special cooldown charges and grants him a brave attack.
Sylvain is at his maximum potential after using a Rally skill, and should almost always be using one before he enters combat with his foes.
Spring Sylvain takes 1.5x damage from cavalry-effective weapons like Thani or Binding Reginleif, and one blow from this type of weapon will deal significant damage. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
