What are Mercenary Camps?

Modern Warfare 3 - Loot Cache

Each Mercenary Camp will have a Loot Cache that contains a Mercenary Stronghold Keycard, which can be used to unlock Strongholds found across the Zombies map. Alternatively, you can also purchase this Stronghold Keycard at Buy Stations.

The Loot Cache is guarded by a small army of Mercenaries, and their number and difficulty depends on the Difficulty Threat Zone you're currently in.

It is worth noting that you don't need to clear the area to loot the cache of the camp. To save time, you can loot the cache and quickly exit the area.
