Where to Find Loot Caches

Commonly Found Inside Buildings and Rooms

Modern Warfare 3 - Loot Cache
Loot Caches are more commonly found in urban areas, such as cities and towns, as they are usually found inside houses or buildings rather than open deserted areas. Unlike other items in the game, Loot Caches do not appear on your map. You have to look for them by exploring the area, as they are scattered all over the map.

Ammo Caches, which are pinned on the map, are not counted towards completion of the loot cache objective. Similarly, you actually need to loot the contents of the cache, instead of just opening it, for it to count towards mission completion.

Loot Cache Rewards

Needed to Complete Treasure Hunter Mission

Modern Warfare 3 - Treasure Hunter
To complete the Treasure Hunter mission in Act 1, you are required to open 25 Loot Caches in the game.

Treasure Hunter Rewards

You will be rewarded with the Instant Insanity Sticker and 1,500 XP for completing the Treasure Hunter mission in Act 1.
