To get rid of the body, use Quick Kill or Execution, or wait for the timer to end. If you get killed, the enemy player that you are using as a body shield will be released.
When Proximity Chat is enabled in your game's settings, it automatically activates when you use an enemy as a shield. This feature lets you hear the enemy player's final words or pleas for help, allowing players to have some unique and personal interactions.
One of the benefits of not just taking out an enemy player and using them as a Body Shield is that while you are dragging them along, you can see the rest of the enemy team's position on the minimap.
You can temporarily block enemy fire while using an enemy player as a body shield. However, the exact amount of damage you can tank with the Body Shield is still not confirmed.
Players being used as a Body Shield can press the Call for Help button to notify teammates of their location. To free the victim, teammates must kill the player holding the Body Shield.
