Bring ASG-89 and the Ice Staff

The ASG-89 is the best weapon for this boss fight due to the raw damage it deals per shot compared to other more conventional weapons such as Assault Rifles and LMGs.

It deals an average of around 4000 damage per shot, and a 4-man squad using purely the ASG-89 should be able to easily beat the Sentinel Artifact's phases fairly quickly with proper coordination on which target to focus on.

For a secondary weapon, the Ice Staff is the best for zombie crowd control due to its ability to freeze enemies in a wide area. This will come in handy in keeping zombies and elite enemies in check during the boss fight.

Best ASG-89 Build and Loadout

Use Crowd Control Items and GobbleGums

There will hardly be any options to regain ammo during the fight, forcing you to rely mostly on the Sentinel Artifact's phase transitions where it drops a Max Ammo power-up and nearby ammo caches. Because of this, we recommend you bring Cache Back and Free Fire for a manageable ammo economy.

For crowd control and survivability, your best bet are the GobbleGums Idle Eyes and Power Keg. Idle Eyes will help tremendously in keeping enemies off you while you deal damage during the boss's vulnerable phases. Power Keg will help you and your team regain charges for Aether Shroud and Frenzied Guard. We recommend everyone uses Cryo Freeze since it is a weakness of most elite enemies in this map.

For a throwable item, the Cymbal Monkey is also recommended for keeping enemies distracted. It has an advantage over the regular Decoy Grenade for its longer duration and its horde clear potential. For a scorestreak, the Sentry Turret is the most feasible option for regular zombie crowd control when everyone else is busy with the boss.

Focus on Survivability and Damage for Perks

With the loadout above, the perks you will want to have during the boss fight are mainly Jugger-Nog for survivability, Speed Cola for faster reloads (and slow ammo refill through Augments), and Deadshot Daiquiri for more critical damage.

After, you can add in some more secondary perks such as Quick Revive in case of emergencies.

How to Beat Sentinel Artifact

Damage the Artifact When It Turns Purple

Purple Artifact

At the beginning of the Sentinel Artifact boss fight, you will have to wait for the artifact to turn purple before you can damage it. While waiting, dodge its laser attack by hiding behind walls, or by going up or down the first and second floor of the arena.

Once it turns purple, focus all your firepower on the artifact since you'll need to destroy it within a short amount of time to reduce the boss's HP. If you fail to destroy the artifact within the timeframe given, the boss's health won't be reduced and you'll have to wait for the artifact to turn purple again.

Distract Zombies by Using GobbleGums, Cymbal Monkeys, or Aether Shroud

Cymbal Monkey in Artifact Boss Fight

You can use Cymbal Monkeys, the Aether Shroud field upgrade, or GobbleGums like Idle Eyes so that the zombies won't attack you while you're damaging the Sentinel Artifact.

Focus on One Artifact When it Multiplies

Focus on One Artifact

Each time you successfully destroy an artifact, it will multiply into several more. Again, wait for them to turn purple and then coordinate with your team on which specific Artifact to attack to quickly destroy one, since attacking multiple artifacts will take a longer time to destroy and you'll likely fail the damaging phase.

Kill the Possessed Zombies

Kill Possessed Zombies

Once the Sentinel Artifact splits into four or more, certain Amalgams, Doppelghasts, or Heavy Zombies will become possessed by it. You can easily identify them if they have a unique name next to their HP or if you see a red aura around them. Kill these possessed zombies to reveal the artifact and then shoot it until it gets destroyed.

Repeat until the boss's health is dwindled down to a quarter.

Quickly Destroy the Final Artifact

Destroy the Final Artifact

After depleting the Sentinel Artifact's health to almost zero, one of the Artifacts will hover over to the giant doorway. At this point, focus all your firepower to destroy the last Artifact until its health is completely depleted. This final phase has a time limit and failing to destroy the Artifact within the time given will completely wipe out your squad!
