What to Bring in Guardian Boss Fight

Equip Automatic Weapons for Better Tracking

For a boss that is highly mobile and agile like the Guardian, automatic weapons such as Assault Rifles, SMGs, and Light Machine Guns are a better choice to easily track its movement while you're aiming and shooting at it.

One-shot explosive weapons such as Launchers are not recommended for the Guardian boss fight as it constantly runs around the arena, making it difficult for you to fire explosive rounds at it.

The Guardian Weakness

Destroy Armor Pieces to Reveal Weak Points

To damage the Guardian in the early stages of the fight, you will have to destroy the armor on its wrists, feet, shoulders, and back. Each armor piece you destroy reveals a glowing spot behind it. The glowing spots are its weakest points and you'll have to shoot them as soon as they are revealed to deal a lot of damage to the Guardian.

Since zombies will also be chasing you, it is best to run around clockwise to trail the zombies while you're shooting the boss's weak spots.

Aim for the Chest in the Third Phase

For the third and final phase of the Guardian fight, the main weakness will now be the glowing spot on its chest. The other weak points on its body such as its wrists and shoulders will no longer be present, so focus all your efforts in damaging the chest until it is finally defeated.

Use Incantations on Zombie Hordes

You can easily wipe out the zombies that are chasing after you by picking up the Incantations from the chests around the arena and then use it at them by pressing the tactical slot button.

After picking up an Incantation, the chest that you got it from will have a short cooldown before it restocks again. The zombies during the boss fight are not infinite, so it is worth wiping them all out first before focusing on the boss.

Defeat Zombies During Immunity Form

After dealing enough damage to the Guardian, it will stand still at the middle and be completely invulnerable to damage. Its immunity form will only last for a few minutes before the boss fight shifts into the next phase, but you will have to defend yourself from waves of zombies in the mean time.

The Guardian will always transform into its immunity form in between phases.

Dodge the Fireballs

The second phase kicks off with some new abilities from the Guardian. One of which is the fireball attack where it will spit out balls of lava at you and can possibly one-shot kill you if you don't have Jugger-Nog. To avoid this, always run around clockwise and be on the move to avoid getting hit by the lava balls.

Avoid Getting Slammed Down

Another ability of the Guardian also present in the second phase is that it can also leap up in the air and slam the ground down with its hammer. Keep an eye out for a red circle on the ground as this indicates where it will land and then quickly move away from the radius of the circle to avoid taking damage.
