Pros are marked with a green chevron and arrows to indicate that they give a positive stat and Cons with a red chevron to indicate a negative stat.

Once you have unlocked a Fire Mod attachment for your gun, go into the Loadout menu, select a custom loadout, highlight the weapon, and press the button corresponding to the Gunsmith to access the Gunsmith menu.
Note that you will need to have Custom Loadouts unlocked at Progression Level 4 to access the Gunsmith.
Equipping Fire Mods can modify the performance of your weapon's firing mechanism and even ammunition.
For example, Rapid Fire will help increase the fire rate of your gun with a bit of drawback, while other Fire Mods increase stats like Scorestreak Damage, Penetration, Bullet Velocity, and even Recoil Control.
