Call of Duty Black Ops 6 (BO6)

How to Fix Different Version Error

Different Version Error

The different version error is a bug that occurs when trying to squad up or rejoin a match in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (BO6). Read on to learn how to fix the different version error and get back into the game.

How to Fix Different Version Error

Exit the Game and Restart It

If you get the Join failed because you are on a different version error when trying to squad up or rejoin an ongoing match, simply exit the game then restart Black Ops 6 to fix the error.

When trying to rejoin a co-op Zombies map, you can have your friends use the Co-Op Pause feature introduced in Season 2. While capped at 15 minutes, the pause does allow them to wait for you to reconnect while you restart Black Ops 6.

All Party Members Need to Restart if the Error Persists

If you keep getting the error when trying to join a lobby even after restarting the game, then everyone in the squad you want to join will have to restart Black Ops 6 as well. This will fix the failed join invites once everyone is back in.
