The ASG-89 is the best shotgun for group clearing in a tight space due to its one-shot kill potential and fast semi-auto capability. It excels in clearing crowds and performs best when used for flanking. It is easy to use, excels over the Marine SP in fire rate, and has better sustained fire and pre-fire capability due to its magazine size.
Good spread attachments like the Full Choke and a Rapid Fire mod for a faster fire rate will help this shotgun keep up with faster-firing weapon types like SMGs. It is also deadlier when paired with 12 Gauge Slugs, being able to deliver more power at a further distance.

The Marine SP is your starting shotgun and it's good for its tight spread and one-shot kill capability in close range. Its pump-action nature struggles against fully-automatic loadouts, making it so that you have to rely on good positioning and movement in the more "open" maps of Multiplayer.
It can win in most one-on-ones at close range but will take more mechanical skill to use than the ASG-89. Taking advantage of attachments like the Muzzle Brake for a tighter pellet spread and the Reinforced Barrel for extra ammo, recoil control, and damage range, will make the Marine SP deadlier and much more comfortable to use.
