The XMG is the best all-arounder LMG due to it having an excellent base recoil control, fire rate, and damage that gives consistent short time-to-kill up to long ranges in precise hands. It is also accessible early on, requiring only level 13 to be unlocked.
Even without recoil control attachments like the Vertical Foregrip, the XMG has the best sustained-fire accuracy at long ranges compared to others in its class, so you will be able to easily go full auto on enemies at the distance.

The GPMG-7 has the fastest fire rate in its class, potentially having the shortest TTK among the LMGs. It will suffer at long range due to the fast recoil stacking of its fire rate, so it will only mostly excel in close-mid range combat.
It has a low base ammo count, so you will want magazine atttachments like Extended Mag II for it if you want to cut down groups. Recoil control attachments like the Ported Compensator will also be needed for better short bursts with the GPMG-7.

The PU-21 is the best lightweight LMG suited for more mobile, run-and-gun ADS loadouts at mid range, and can be made lighter with the of support of Fast Mags. However, it won't give you as much sustained accuracy as the XMG or the shorter time-to-kill of the GPMG-7. Fast thinking with mobility is what you will have to lean on for this gun.
Over other LMGs, it's excels in quick reaction during slides and other omnimovement actions but you will need to support it with balanced recoil control attachments like the Ranger Foregrip to ensure its accuracy is consistent up to mid range.
