What Are Critical Kills?

Critical Vs Normal Kills

A Critical Kill is a bonus awarded to players for shooting the Zombies in the head for the killing blow — You get 25 Bonus Essence per kill. Be sure to get the headshot as the last hit because you can still get a normal elimination if the last hit is a body shot despite shooting the zombie in the head.

Move Around and Group Up Zombies

Training Zombies

To get Critical Kills effeciently, move around the map and kite the Zombies around until they eventually group up and align their heads in a way that you can easily line up consecutive headshots.

Acquiring Perks like Stamin-Up and Deadshot Daiquiri to help with mobility and headshot damage output will also make stacking Critical Kills much easier. On console, Deadshot Daiquiri automatically targets critical body parts, such as the head, when you ADS.

Get comfortable with your movement and your aim. Make sure that your back is not exposed and that you have an escape route after grouping and taking out a horde of Zombies.
