Leaving an ongoing Zombies match in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) will result in losing all items you're currently carrying throughout the session. Read on to find out more about how leave penalty works and if it's worth leaving a match when you're dead!
When you leave a match all your items will be lost even the ones you have successfully exfiltrated from previous matches. So even if you have powerful gear, they will be lost if they're not insured and you leave the match.
Insured items will not be lost, however, they will have a 1-hour cooldown if you leave an ongoing match. You can Insure items by placing them in the insured slots when checking your loadout optons before the start of the match.
Since you can't change Equipped Missions mid-match, you can leave the match to change your mission without having to go through having to exfil. This is only worth it if you don't have good equipment anyway and if your current Equipped Mission is harder than another one available in your Tier.

Keep going if you have strong weapons upgraded or useful gear and items that can help in your current run. You can exfiltrate these items and insure them to make sure you never lose them again!
