Outsider's best weapons are Exiled Fangs and Excresduo. Exiled Fangs is the best option due to its high synergy with his Relentless Hunt State. In the same manner, Sacrosanct Chorus is the best ranged weapon since it will benefit from Outsider's attack speed boost due to their Relentless Hunt state.
For Outsider's Demon Wedges, aim to build around ATK, Anemo ATK, Skill DMG, and Resolve. He also benefits from more Skill Duration to extend all of his abilities' uptime. Depending on the situation, equip any Wedge from the Sphinx set to target mobs or bosses.

Outsider performs the best with Exiled Fangs since his playstyle focuses more on attacking with his melee weapon and triggering Bonus Effects. Its skill works extremely well with Relentless Hunt's HP Drain, essentially extending its duration by quite a bit.
Alternatively, you can use Elpides Abound since he benefits from the extra Resolve and ATK Speed it gives. His playstyle, however, doesn't focus much on Skills or Ranged Weapons so you won't be able to effectively extend its effect. You can also use Momiji Itteki, since he'll essentially be building up his combo level with his attacks.

How to Play Outsider
- Turn Invisible with Stealthy Prowl
- Generate Fang Spikes with Attacks
- Retract all Fang Spikes with Predator's Pounce
- Enter Relentless Hunt with Ultimate
- Boost Anemo Allies' ATK as a Combat Partner
Turn Invisible with Stealthy Prowl
Outsider can turn invisible by using his skill, Stealthy Prowl. This generates two Fang Spikes on the field and lets him enter the Stealth state. During this time, he can't be detected by enemies even when taking damage. Use this to reposition or target specific enemies.
Generate Fang Spikes with Attacks

Fang Spikes are central to Outsider's playstyle and are mainly generated by his melee attacks. They travel through the air and deal damage to enemies in a linear path before dropping on the ground. Furthermore, they apply Throatcutter, which increases Outsider's damage to enemies.
Get Fang Spikes from Taking Damage
Outsider generates a Fang Spike in retaliation when he takes damage. This attacks the damage dealer and can be generated once per second.
Retract all Fang Spikes with Predator's Pounce
Outsider's Ultimate, Predator's Pounce, causes him to retract all Fang Spikes on the field. He gains an Ultra Shield based on the number of spikes retracted, and at the cost of his HP. Furthermore, his Relentless Hunt state gets extended based on this effect.
Enter Relentless Hunt with Ultimate
Predator's Pounce lets Outsider enter the Relentless Hunt state. He gains extra weapon ATK SPD and a Resolve boost, making his damage and Fang Spike generation a lot more consistent and potent.
Boost Anemo Allies' ATK as a Combat Partner
Outsider provides an ATK Boost to all Anemo allies by being a Combat Partner. Make sure to activate this skill to get this effect.

Get Through the Secret Letter System
Most of the characters in Duet Night Abyss can be obtained through the Secret Letter system. Using 10 Secret Letter Clues, you can buy the Secret Letter of Outsider, which can be opened after completing a Covert Commission stage.
After opening a Secret Letter, it has a chance to drop a Thought. You then need 30 pieces of a Thought to unlock Outsider. Do note that Secret Letters are not guaranteed to drop a Thought!
Use Phoxene Plumule to Buy Thoughts
If you go to the Shop via the pause menu, you can buy a character's Thought for 150 Phoxene Plumule, which is the game's premium currency and can be bought using real money.

Anonymous about 1 monthFunny, this guy is probably one of the only characters who can casually one-shot enemies, especially bosses. His damage multiplier is beyond ridiculous, unlike the rest of the SS-tier characters. Even though others like Phantasio, Lady Nifle, Psyche, or Lynn have better overall, the Outsider is just way too absurd and should probably belong to a higher A-tier—if it weren’t for his kit being solely focused on assassinating tanky units and bosses. That’s his main drawback, unlike the big 4.

Before you ask, yes - Outsider is good at killing mob hordes. True. But again, Phantasio, Lady Nifle, Psyche, and Lynn all perform better overall. Outsider’s kit is what limits him, which is why he belongs in A-tier.
