Talk to Dutton

Duet Night Abyss Sewer Carnival Quest

You can find Dutton in an alley that can be accessed via the eastern exit of the Icelake Suburban Square. Go up the stairs in between a recruitment notice and a chest with a woman standing in front of it.

Walk straight and down the stairs to find Dutton standing in front of an apartment and next to a manhole cover. Alternatively, you can also access the alley from the city gates. Simply walk through the city gates and turn right into the the alley. Go further in and up the stairs to find Dutton.

Speak to Dutton and accept his invitation to go for a "ride" in the sewers canals.

(You catch a flicker of guilt in Dutton's eyes — clearly, this "ride" isn't quite as thrilling as he makes it sound.)

Enter the Sewers

Duet Night Abyss Dutton
Dutton will disappear after you accept the Side Quest. Look to your left and tap the manhole cover next to where Dutton was standing to enter the sewers.

Pass the Wisdom Check

Sewer Carnival 4

Interacting with Dutton for a second time will trigger a Wisdom Check. He will try to convince you to go into the sewers before he does. If you pass the Wisdom Check, you will successfully convince him to go in ahead of you.

(As Dutton brags, he slaps a nearby pipe — only for a loose screw to ping off and clatter loudly down the tunnel. He either doesn't notice... or pretends not to, beckoning you towards the entrance.)

Head Deeper Into the Sewers

Duet Night Abyss Sewer Carnival Filthoids

Go further into the sewers until you encounter a small group of Filthoids blocking your way. Defeat them quickly and keep following the quest marker leading to Dutton's location.

Reach the Finish Line

Duet Night Abyss Sewers
Follow the quest marker until you reach a sewer walkway. Walk onto the bridge and interact with the quest marker. You will find that Dutton is nowhere to be found and possibly ended up in a different area in the sewers.

Follow the quest marker leading you deeper into the sewers to Dutton's final location.

Find Dutton and Defeat the Filthoids

Duet Night Abyss Sewer Carnival Filthoids

Once you have reached Dutton's location, a group of Filthoids will spawn on the spot and attack you. Defeat them quickly.

After beating the Filthoids, Dutton will appear, having exited the pipe he slid into, sick from his ride down the sewers. He will give you your reward for fulfilling his request.

(Pale and crumpled on the ground, Dutton is heaving and retching uncontrollably. Clearly, the "sewer slide" wasn't quite as safe — or fun — as he'd made it out to be.)
